David Shepardson is the federal courts reporter for The Detroit News, where he has worked since 1995. At the News, he has covered the suburbs, Wayne Circuit Court, Metro Detroit's large Arab-American community and several major breaking news events. He holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Michigan. He was a reporter and editor at the Michigan Daily, the university's student-run paper.

Shepardson attended the University of Michigan and majored in Journalism. He is single and lives in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
