Clive Crook is a senior writer for National Journal and the deputy editor of The Economist of London. He was educated at the University of Oxford and the London School of Economics. Before joining The Economist in 1982, he was an official in Her Majesty's Treasury. At The Economist, he worked in turn as economics correspondent, Washington DC correspondent, and economics editor; he was appointed deputy editor in 1992. He has written a fortnightly column on economics and international relations for National Journal since 1998.
