Christopher Carey has been a business reporter for 20 years, most of them spent working at the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

He specializes in stories about white-collar crime, securities fraud and corporate malfeasance. He also covers the casino, tourism, sports and media businesses and has written extensively about the airline, aerospace and defense industries.

His reporting has been honored by the Society of American Business Editors and Writers and press organizations in Missouri, Indiana and Kentucky.

Carey, 44, is a native of Ames, Iowa. He graduated from Indiana University in 1983, with a double major in journalism and economics.

He previously was a reporter for the Indianapolis Star, the Orlando Sentinel and the Messenger-Inquirer in Owensboro, Ky.
