Bryce Hoffman covers the automotive industry for The Detroit News, focusing on Ford Motor Co. A California native, Hoffman began his career as a political reporter in 1992, writing for a variety of newspapers in that state, including the Oakland Tribune and Contra Costa Times. After several years as a government reporter, he began covering Silicon Valley as a financial journalist in 1998. In 1999, the California Newspaper Publishers Association honored him for his investigative reporting.
