Bryce Hoffman

Bryce Hoffman is an award-winning business reporter for The Detroit News specializing in coverage of the automotive industry. Hoffman began his career in 1992 and – after covering the high-tech industry for a number of newspapers in California, including the Contra Costa Times and Oakland Tribune – joined The News in 2005.

A two-time finalist for the prestigious Gerald Loeb Award, Hoffman was honored this year by the Society of American Business Editors and Writers, the Society of Professional Journalists, the Detroit Press Club Foundation and the Associated Press for his coverage of the domestic automobile industry.

Hoffman attended San Francisco State University, majoring in Anthropology and Philosophy and later completed a fellowship in free market economics at the California State University, Hayward. He lives in Grand Blanc, Michigan.
