Art Lenehan's direction in life was determined when he graduated from Columbia College with a degree in modern American literature and entered training to become a computer repair specialist in the U.S. Navy. As AME for electronic news at the Star-Ledger, he helped build one of the country's first full-blown media convergence schemes, coordinating print staff at the Ledger with broadcast staff at News 12 New Jersey and online staff at New Jersey Online. As managing editor of The Record, in northern New Jersey, he promoted online initiatives that culminated in a major investigative project called Toxic Legacy (www.toxiclegacy.com). The project won the highest award from the Investigative Reporters and Editors association, described in the citation as "a riveting multimedia presentation, which set a standard to which larger publications and broadcast outlets should aspire." Art and his team built the multimedia framework for "Keeping Up With The Wangs."
