Anne Davenport

Anne Davenport joined The NewsHour with Jim Lehrer in 2000 as its Media Producer. She had produced for ABC News, CBS News and Chronicle Broadcasting in Washington, D.C. for the 12 years prior, focusing primarily on political coverage (the 1990, 1992, 1994 and 1996 elections and a number of political nominating conventions and Congress) and covering the occasional off-the-beaten-track story like the active volcano in Montserrat, West Indies. After graduating from Brown University with a degree in political science, she headed to Sioux City, Iowa where she joined the 1988 presidential campaign trail as a reporter for KTIV-TV, an NBC affiliate.

With NewsHour media correspondent Terence Smith, she has helped the Media Unit earn six honors, including recognition as a Loeb finalist last year.
