Andrea Tortora is a health care reporter at the Cincinnati Business Courier, where she reports on a variety of issues including large hospital systems, a dynamic research community and the rising costs of health care. Prior to working at the Courier, Tortora spent five years as a reporter at the Cincinnati Enquirer, where she covered the Cincinnati Public Schools system and state and national education trends. Tortora, 31, also has worked as a reporter in Washington, D.C.; Rome, Italy; and suburban New York City. She has received numerous awards from the Society of American Business Editors and Writers, the Cleveland Press Club, the Ohio Society of Professional Journalists, the Cincinnati Society of Professional Journalists and the Kentucky Press Association. She also was chosen to attend numerous seminars at the Knight Center for Specialized Journalism, the Hechinger Institute for Education and the Media, and the Poynter Institute for Media Studies. Tortora is a graduate of Ohio University with a Bachelor of Science in journalism and a minor in biology.
