Amity Shlaes is a senior columnist for the Financial Times. Her column appears both in the US edition of the FT and in other editions. Her column is syndicated and is carried by the Indianapolis Star, the Chicago Tribune, the Los Angeles Times, among other papers. Over the years Miss Shlaes has also published in the New Yorker, the New Republic, the National Review and the German weekly, Die Zeit. Before joining the FT four years ago, she worked for seventeen years at the Wall Street Journal. Miss Shlaes is the author of a national betseller on taxes, “The Greedy Hand” (Random House). She is currently at work on a history of the Great Depression for Harper Collins.
