Allan Dodds Frank

Allan Dodds Frank is the investigative correspondent for CNN Business News, the division of the CNN News Group that produces business news and updates for CNN/U.S., CNN International, CNN Headline News, CNN Airport Network, CNNRadio and the Web site CNN.Money.com. He is based in the Financial News headquarters in New York City.

Frank regularly contributes legal analysis and special reports on developing business stories and court rulings impacting business for Lou Dobbs Moneyline. Since the Sept. 11th attacks, Frank has focused exclusively on the terrorism money trail. In numerous reports for Lou Dobbs Moneyline, CNN Presents and other CNN programs, Frank has traced the sources of money being tapped by Osama bin Laden, the Taliban and other terrorist organizations. Frank also covered a special series for the show called "Family Business: The Mob on Wall Street."

Frank joined CNN in 1994 from ABC News, where he had been financial investigative correspondent and producer since 1988. Before joining ABC, he was a senior editor of Forbes magazine, where he reported on such stories as Iranian arms smuggling, international drug businesses, worldwide money laundering schemes and defense stories. He conceived and developed the annual "Forbes Top 40" list of richest entertainers. He also served as a national and domestic staff writer for The Washington Star from 1973-1981.

Frank's professional honors include a 1992 News and Documentary Emmy Award for Outstanding General Coverage of a Single Breaking News Story and numerous Front Page Awards from the Washington-Baltimore Newspaper Guild.

He is a member of the New York Financial Writers' Association and Sigma Delta Chi. He is also currently a member and a judge of the Overseas Press Club Awards Committee, of which he is the former chairman. Frank is a former member of the White House Correspondents' Association and the National Press Club.
Frank holds a master's of studies in law from Yale Law School, a master's in journalism from Columbia University and a bachelor's degree from Colgate University.
