Dan Kelly is a news editor on page one of The Wall Street Journal, working on a wide range of feature and investigative stories.
Kelly became a Journal copy editor in 1969 and for several years wrote a daily front-page news summary. In 1977 and 1978 he was a writer on the CBS Evening News, producing scripts for Walter Cronkite and other anchors. He returned to the Journal and served for several years as deputy Page One Editor.
Kelly grew up on an Iowa farm, where he still puts in a yearly appearance at harvest season. He has a degree from the University of Dallas in philosophy and did graduate work at the University of Texas.
