Biography

Ravi Shanmugam joins UCLA Anderson from the Leavey School of Business at Santa Clara University, where he was an Assistant Professor of Marketing from 2010 to 2014 and taught in the MBA and undergrad programs. He received a Ph.D. in marketing as well as an MBA from the University of California, Berkeley and a BA in Computer Science from Harvard University. Shanmugam teaches New Product Development in the full-time and FEMBA programs. His research covers topics including the role of feedback in motivating consumers contributions to online review sites, competition between retailers in shopping centers, and the effects of negative advertising on outcomes of political campaigns. Prior to his Ph.D. and MBA, Shanmugam worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers, LivePerson and Digitas.
