The Information Systems (IS) Academic Area at UCLA Anderson School of Management offers elective courses at both the MBA and Ph.D. levels. It sustains an active research program supported in part by an Associates program.

In the News

IS doctoral grad Ping Wang (Ph.D., 2005) presented two papers at the recent International Conference on Information Systems (ICIS) held in Orlando, December 16-19, 2012, including "Community Ecology for Information Concept: The Case of Cloud Computing," with J. Sun, and  "Innovating Mindfully with OpenTable: A Restaurant's Experience," with S. Lee and J. Sun.  Also attending ICIS were Bill DeLone (Ph.D., 1983), Cynthia Beath (Ph.D., 1986), Sidne Ward (Ph.D, 1996), Alberto Bento (Ph.D., 1980), and Professor Burt Swanson, who participated in the Senior Scholars Consortium.

Professor Burt Swanson presented the paper, "Who Learns What From the New Human-Computer Interaction?", at the 18th Americas Conference on Information Systems (AMCIS), held in Seattle, August 9-11, 2012.  A revised version of the paper will also appear in ACM SIGMIS DATA BASE for Advances in Information Systems (in press).

The Information Systems Research Program (ISRP) welcomed two visiting doctoral students, Stefan Hoermann, Technical University of Munich, Winter 2012, and Christopher Zaby, Ingolstadt Business School, Winter and Spring 2012, to the UCLA Anderson School.  They will conduct their research here under Professor Swanson's sponsorship.
