    Announcement of Ladder Faculty Position in Global Economics and Management

    The Global Economics and Management Area at the UCLA Anderson School of Management is seeking to hire new faculty members beginning with the 2016-2017 academic year. The search is open to all ranks in the professorial series. The ideal candidate is an applied economist, particularly in the fields of international economics or applied microeconomics. Applications from a broader set of fields within applied economics are also welcome. We expect that the successful candidate will teach in the MBA and Ph.D. programs.  The ideal candidate profile includes: a Ph.D. in economics, or completion of Ph.D. in economics no later than June 30, 2016, proficiency in data analysis, interest in applied research, demonstrated ability to perform high quality research on applied economic issues, and ability and interest to teach in our core MBA program.                   Announcement of an Adjunct Faculty Position for the Easton program/DOTM

                  The DOTM area would like to hire a part-time or full-time adjunct faculty member in technology. This individual would contribute to the teaching and outreach aspects of the Easton program, with the exact portfolio to be determined depending on his/her expertise. The ideal candidate would be able to teach one or more classes related to technology, especially digital technology. The individual would also be expected to participate in and contribute to technology-related events at UCLA Anderson, organized by the Easton program and/or by the student club, the High-Tech Business Association. These events can include conferences, workshops, career nights, speaker series, etc. The current program staff would be responsible for the administrative aspects of events, but the ideal candidate will have an extensive network of potential speakers to bring to such events.

                  The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of the technology sector, with a preference for industries that are closest to our students’ interests. That knowledge will be reflected in participation in industry events, publications (scholarly and/or professional), and other evidence of thought leadership and visibility. The ideal candidate will also have a strong teaching record, preferably teaching MBA students or similar, as reflected in course evaluations, teaching awards, or other forms of teaching recognition. Finally, the ideal candidate will have proven leadership skills, including an ability to work effectively in academic institutions.

                  The position will require substantial presence on campus, during class times but also attending and facilitating events during daytimes, evenings, and weekends. The total time commitment can be between 50%-100% time, but even if less than 100% time it is intended that this position would be the individual’s primary focus.

                  The individual would work closely with the faculty director of the Easton program, the executive director of the Easton program, the student leadership of the High-Tech Business Association, and the leadership of other programs and centers within the school as appropriate.
