Dear UCLA Anderson Alumni and Friends,

The UCLA Anderson Donor Honor Roll acknowledges those who supported the school in the 2011-2012 fiscal year, ending June 30, 2012. We raised $20.3 million, thanks to you.

Philanthropic support is vital to the excellence of UCLA Anderson. In these pages, we recognize those whose generosity and confidence in UCLA Anderson are helping advance all facets of our school - from student and faculty support, to management thought leadership and innovative programming, or community and global outreach. Your giving enables learning among gifted and deserving students who couldn't otherwise afford to attend UCLA Anderson; the hiring and retention of world-class faculty members; and important research programs that advance management practice.

You'll read stories about individuals who are achieving a lasting impact on UCLA Anderson, and on its current and future students:

  • Kimberly Freeman ('02 ), of Sempra Energy, who is helping UCLA Anderson raise funds to attract a diverse student body. "I give to Anderson because I want to see more people like me in the school," Kimberly says.
  • Professors Sherie and Don Morrison, whose two daughters are both UCLA Anderson alumnae. The Morrison's most recent gift is targeted at attracting top faculty and students. "It's always hard to hire and retain faculty ... we give out of a sense of gratitude," says Don, UCLA Anderson's William E. Leonhard Professor of Management.
  • Caroline and Richard Nahas, who established the student fellowship that bears their name. Caroline, a member of the Board of Visitors, was herself the recipient of a financial gift when she studied as an undergraduate at UCLA. She says, "Someone gave me that gift without knowing me at all ... that was the catalyst for us."

I'd also like to express my profound personal thanks to each of you who gave to our Accelerate Campaign, which concluded in December 2011. The $25 million gift from Marion and John E. Anderson raised the bar for the entire campaign. The Andersons' first gift of $15 million in 1987 created a foundation of excellence for the school. With their most recent gift, they have once again demonstrated their deep commitment to the school and educational legacy that bears John E. Anderson's name, who sadly passed in 2011.

Please accept my deepest gratitude for all you do on behalf of UCLA Anderson.

Warm wishes for the New Year,

Judy D. Olian
