If you attended high school for at least three years in the state of California then you may qualify for AB540 status, which waives your non-resident tuition and fees. For additional information and requirements, please contact the Residence Deputy at UCLA at www.registrar.ucla.edu or call 310-825-3447.
In order to be considered a California resident, you must prove to UCLA's Residence Deputy that you have lived in California for 12 consecutive months prior to starting classes at UCLA Anderson, and that you intend to remain in California. To apply for residency, you must complete a Residence Classification Petition from the UCLA Registrar's Office website listed above. If you begin the program in your first year as a non-resident, you may qualify for residency for your second year in the program if you meet the qualifications listed above. This information only applies to U.S. citizens and permanent residents.
The Residence Deputy requires documentation of your intent and length of residence, including, but not limited to:
- Copy of your voter registration card
- Copy of your California Driver's License
- Proof of auto registration in California
- Proof of accounts in California banks
- Copy of your lease/rental agreement
