Flexibility and Specializations

You'll have the option to select the sequence of key core courses (marketing and finance) and electives in your first year. This flexibility will build in-depth expertise in your chosen career and help you prepare for your internship interviews. You may wish to add a specialization to customize your academic preparation even further according to industry and function.

Electives

Electives can help you explore new directions and expand your world view.

There are so many developing trends in today’s business environment — it can be hard to keep up. Electives are a great way to broaden your world view or further specialize if you've already set your sights on a particular function.

Below is a sample of some of our most popular electives from the 2015-2016 year.

"Digital Marketing Strategy" by Sanjay Sood

“Agony and Ecstasy – Sports Management” by Peter Guber

“Evolution and Innovation in the Global Mobile Industry” by Terry Kramer

“Managing Finance and Financing the Emerging Enterprise” by Bill Cockrum

Flexibility & Specializations

Right from the start, you are in control

You pick marketing or finance in the first quarter and the right electives in spring. This structure gives you the ability to pick the right courses at the right time to support your career goals. This is expressly intended to prepare you for your internship interviews, which can start in fall quarter or earlier. If your recruitment timeline is not too heavy, you could consider taking an elective in winter quarter. For a list of all courses offered at UCLA Anderson, please refer to the UCLA General Catalog.

You will be able to delve deeper into your target industry or function by completing one of our optional specializations. Specializations require the completion of four courses from a list of suggestions that have been carefully chosen by faculty, alumni practitioners and recruiters.

Below is a brief sample of some courses offered for our specializations. To read full descriptions of these courses, and for a list of all courses offered at UCLA Anderson, please refer to the UCLA General Catalog.
