Global Options

Going Global; Becoming Attuned

There’s no way that you can be a successful business person in the 21st century, if you don’t know the world. ”

Sebastian Edwards, Faculty Director
Senior Associate Dean of Global Initiatives and Henry Ford II Chair in International Management

To successfully complete their MBA, all UCLA Anderson students need to fulfill a global requirement through: (1) Participation in a Global Immersion course; (2) completion of an international Applied Management Research field study project; and/or (3) enrollment in one of our many global management elective courses.

Global Immersion Courses

Concentrated on the school’s target regions of Asia and Latin America, courses focus on doing business in other countries to prepare students to be global leaders. These four-unit courses include classes at UCLA Anderson and one week immersion in-country for a blend of classroom lectures, guest speakers, panel discussions, company visits and cultural activities.

Applied Management Research

As the capstone experience of each and every Anderson MBA's journey, students choose teams of peers to embark on a 20-week project in one of three directions. Each year a number of Capstone Project teams focus their efforts of advancing pro-social causes outside of the United States. Whether evaluating new models for micro finance, improving foreign supply chain efficiency, or evaluating growth and expansion strategies, our global pro-social projects make a real, immediate and often profound impact.
