Applications for the EMBA Class of 2015 will be reviewed on a rolling admission basis with decisions made within 60 days after applications are completed. Applications will be considered on a space available basis. All applications must be submitted electronically. Please use the online recommendation form which you can view here.

Is the GMAT or GRE required? Is there a minimum required GMAT or GRE score needed?

The Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT) or Graduate Records Exam (GRE) is required for all applicants. GMAT/GRE scores are valid for five years, and the highest score is used if you have taken the test more than once.  You must have your official GMAT score sent electronically to our code for the Executive MBA Program at UCLA: 2NZ-2F-87. There is no required minimum GMAT score.

Are there any prerequisites for this program? back to top

All prospective students need to have some familiarity with quantitative material. Many students take refresher classes for it is important to demonstrate competence in analytical skills in your application, either through undergraduate math courses or your GMAT score. We recommend students have a working knowledge of Excel.

How long is the program? back to top

The Executive MBA program is a 22 month program with classes held every other weekend (Friday and Saturday) on campus. There are five residentials during the program: an opening residential in September, a residential session in June of the first year, a residential in August of the second year, a field study residential in January of the second year, and an international residential in the second year. Download a sample schedule here.

How much time is spent outside the classroom on school related projects? back to top

EMBA students spend an average of 15-20 hours a week outside the classroom.

How is the EMBA program different than the other MBA programs offered by UCLA? back to top

EMBA students have the same core courses, the same faculty, graduate in the same 22-month timeframe as the fulltime MBA students with the same degree. It is geared towards mid-senior managers who are high potential leaders, with a minimum of 8 years of work experience and 5 years of management experience, that includes management of staff, projects and budgets. 

What is the cost of the Executive MBA Program? back to top

The cost of the Executive MBA Program for the Class of 2014 is $64,780 for the first year. Executive MBA fees cover registration, tuition, books and software supplies, meals, parking, and off-campus residentials. All costs for the International Seminar, except airfare, are included. 

Is Financial Aid available? back to top

Yes. Stafford loans up to $20,500 are available to students and private loans for amounts in excess of $20,500 are also available. For more information and to apply for a student loan (Free Application for Federal Student Aid), please go to http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/.  The school code for UCLA is 001315.

How large is the entering class? back to top

We admit between 70-75 students each year.

Do you recommend that I visit the campus? back to top

Applicants are encouraged to attend an EMBA Director's Lunch, that will give you a chance to have your questions answered by EMBA staff, followed by lunch with the EMBA students where you can learn even more about the program. We also highly recommend you visit an EMBA Class.

Yes, if you have CPA or CFA certification we encourage you to review the following waiver.

Do you conduct information sessions at companies? back to top

Yes. If you invite us to visit your company, Executive MBA Staff will arrange to an Information Reception for your employees at the location of your choice, such as your offices or an off-site location. Admissions Policies

UCLA Anderson's School of Management does welcome applicants who withdrew or were denied to reapply in a later year. For reapplication procedures, please visit the application instructions section.

Application fees and deposit fees are non-refundable.

Admissions consideration for UCLA Anderson's three MBA programs (Full-Time, Fully Employed MBA and Executive MBA) are entirely separate. Candidates may apply to only one program in a given year.

Legal Notices

All application materials become the property of UCLA and cannot be returned regardless of the Admissions Committee's decision. Please retain copies for your own records.

The Admissions Office reserves the right to verify that information and documents submitted as part of your application are complete and truthful during the entire application process. 

If you are offered admission, UCLA Anderson reserves the right to revoke that offer if it is found that you misrepresented yourself or omitted facts in the application process, engaged in behavior prior to matriculation that indicates a serious lack of judgment or integrity, or if you have committed to enroll in the class of an institution other than UCLA Anderson after July 1, 2012. UCLA Anderson further reserves the right to require you to provide additional information and/or authorization for the release of information about any such matter. 

Privacy Notification

The California Information Practices Act of 1977 requires that the following statement be made to individuals who are asked to supply information about themselves:
