Entertainment Career Night

Entertainment Career Night is one of the EMA's marquee events. A more formal event held in an upscale event space on-campus, it is a great way for first- and second-year MBA students to learn more about career opportunities directly from company representatives. The event includes multiple roundtable sessions enabling students to speak with employees from various firms in a more intimate group setting. There are also appetizers, cocktails and drinks. Approximately 100 students attend this event, and attendees in 2015 included, among others, Warner Bros., Disney, Hulu, Lionsgate, Paramount, Amazon Studios, Live Nation, Activision/Blizzard, Sony Pictures, CAA, HBO and Google.

Annual Alumni Mixer

The EMA's Annual Alumni Mixer gives students the opportunity, in a more casual setting, to connect with Anderson alumni working in the entertainment industry. Held in the fall, this event provides a touch point for networking at the beginning of the school year.

Studio Treks

Held during the winter quarter, Studio Treks are the EMA's signature events. Every year, Anderson students visit the major studios located in Los Angeles to learn about internship and full-time opportunities and to learn more about each company. Events at each studio include company presentations as well as networking receptions. Previous treks include NBCUniversal, Disney, Netflix, Paramount, MRC Studios, Warner Bros. and Hulu.

NY & Silicon Valley Treks

During the winter quarter, Anderson students travel to New York City and Silicon Valley to connect with a variety of entertainment companies. The NY Trek has included companies such as Sony Music, DirecTV, NBCUniversal, ABC News and Spotify, while the Silicon Valley Trek, organized by the HTBA, exposes students to companies at the intersection of technology and entertainment, such as Sony Playstation.

101 Series & Interview Prep

The EMA has put together an extensive curriculum that is designed to set students up for success in recruiting and interviewing. The 101 Series and Interview Prep are held throughout the fall and winter quarters and span a variety of entertainment segments (i.e. TV, Film, Digital Distribution, Gaming, etc.).

D48's (Dinner for Eights)

Throughout the year, the EMA organizes intimate Dinners for Eight, in which one professional and eight students have the opportunity to dine together and discuss entertainment industry issues, as well as learn about the professional's company and role. These dinners provide students the chance to develop an understanding of different roles in entertainment that they can take on upon graduation.
