Valerie K. Achtemeier - ("Val") is Executive Vice President of Capital Markets, Debt & Equity Finance for CB Richard Ellis, Inc. She has 25 years of commercial real estate experience including both institutional and private entrepreneurial positions focusing on debt and equity procurement, joint venture formations, development, investment acquisitions and dispositions, and all aspects of capital markets activities. Ms. Achtemeier has extensive relationships with diverse capital sources, including both commercial and investment banks, insurance companies, and pension funds. Prior to joining CBRE in 2009, Ms. Achtemeier served as Vice President and Director of Capital Markets at Majestic Realty Co. (1996-2009). In that capacity, she raised debt and equity capital for industrial, retail, office, hotel and gaming assets-averaging capital production of $1 billion per year. Additionally, Ms. Achtemeier was responsible for investment strategy and portfolio analysis. Throughout her career she has structured and approved key leases, acquisitions, dispositions and development projects. She was also a member of Majestic's Board of Directors. Ms. Achtemeier gained institutional experience at The Principal Financial Group where she was responsible for asset management, joint venture development and debt placement, restructuring, leasing and acquisitions throughout the U.S. (1987-1996). Historically she has completed transactions exceeding $18 billion.

Val is focused on providing debt and equity solutions to Institutional Group clients with an emphasis on industrial, retail and office products. This focus includes leading recapitalization efforts, strategic advisory services, joint venture formations, debt placement, restructure strategy and investment sales.
