Stephen Day Cauley is the project manager for the CRSP/Ziman REIT Data Series for the Ziman Center. Dr. Cauley previously served as the Ziman Center's Associate Director for Research and as a Visiting Scholar in Finance at the UCLA Anderson School of Management, where he taught real estate investments. His research involves the application of recent advances in economics, finance and statistics to the valuation of publicly and privately held real estate. As part of this research, he has developed innovative statistical and visualization techniques to analyze spatial variation in real estate markets.
Dr. Cauley has held academic and research positions at the UCLA Department of Economics, and at the RAND Corporation. Additionally, he was licensed as a real estate broker by the State of New Mexico where he was a principal of a firm that formed and managed real estate limited partnerships. Dr. Cauley earned his Ph.D. in economics from UCLA.
