Crowdfunding is poised to make a major impact on the real estate market. Funds raised by online platforms have grown from $1.5 billion in 2011 to a projected $10 billion in 2014, with this rate of growth expected to continue to accelerate going forward. By 2025, the global crowdfunding market could reach between $90 billion and $96 billion - roughly 1.8 times the size of the global venture capital industry today.

Andre ("ANDY") Carpiac is the owner of Kittridge Realty, a Los Angeles based group of commercial real estate companies focused on hotel, office and mixed use real estate investments in Southern California. Andy is also the majority owner of the Hard Rock Hotel Palm Springs and recently completed a crowdfunding equity sale via Realty Mogul for a minority stake in the hotel. He has over seventeen years of experience in the acquisition, operation, development and management of hotel, office, industrial, retail and mixed use properties on the West Coast.
Andy was previously a partner at Pacifica Capital Group, a privately held real estate investment firm that purchased and assembled a 3.6 million square foot portfolio of office, industrial and retail properties in Southern California. Pacifica sold the last property in the portfolio in early 2005 in advance of the last commercial real estate crash. Over his career, he has been personally involved as a principal in more than $500 million in commercial real estate projects.

Buck Jordan founded Canyon Creek Capital in 2010 and has over 10 years of experience in venture, media, consulting and M&A. The fund is focused on funding early stage "Bridge to the A" and Series A investments in companies which have strong founding teams and demonstrated market adoption. Buck has become known for producing top of market due diligence and providing a tremendous amount of value for his portfolio companies. Curtis Kaiser, JD/MBA serves as the co-Chair of the Los Angeles chapter of Tiger 21. Jonathan Littrell serves as General Counsel to Asset Avenue and is a Founding Partner of Raines Feldman LLP, a full-service law firm based in Beverly Hills, California. Mr. Littrell has significant transactional experience in a broad range of real estate, corporate, private equity and securities disciplines. Jonathan's corporate practice includes the representation of public and privately held companies in all aspects of corporate governance and finance including entity selection and formation, corporate structuring and restructuring, formation of funds and joint ventures, private placements of debt and equity and securities filings. Bumbershoot Ventures is the umbrella company Eric co-founded for The Right Arm, a universal tablet stand and mobile stand-up desk. Paige Serden is a senior vice president and regional manager with City National Bank's Real Estate Division. Paige oversees the division's Los Angeles Region, Ventura and Santa Barbara counties, and is responsible for construction lending, operations, and business development. A recognized industry expert, Paige has been in real estate financing since 1985. She currently serves on the boards at Southern California Leadership Network, UCLA Ziman Center for Real Estate and co-chairs the bank's Women's Caucus.
Hrach joined Canaan in 2007 and focuses on both the consumer and enterprise sectors. Hrach currently sits on the board of CompStak, Realty Mogul and Washio and led Canaan's investment in Instacart and Plixi (acquired by Lockerz). Additionally, Hrach has worked closely with several Canaan portfolio companies including Kabam, Associated Content, Zoosk, PrimeSense, Tremor Video, Cardlytics, Switchfly, SandForce, Ebates, and OneFineStay. All this, and he can repair virtually anything with duct tape and a bent screwdriver.
Prior to joining Canaan, Hrach served as the Digital Media Research Associate at Rutberg & Company. He acts regularly as outside global coordinating counsel for many leading enterprises for privacy and information governance, especially cross-border for cloud computing matters.
Mr. Stegmaier also serves as an adjunct professor at George Mason University School of Law where he created and has taught one of the first courses on information privacy law for over ten years. He has represented many of the Internet's pioneers on important questions of first impression. He serves on the Advisory Board of Internet Law & Regulation, a Bloomberg publication, and organizations such as the Wall Street Journal, and Harvard Business School regularly seek out his views.

Ray Sturm is Co-Founder and COO of RealtyShares and is responsible for finance and operations. Ray began his career in finance, working in investment banking first on the Acquisition Finance team at Bear Stearns and then the Restructuring team at Lazard Frères. From there, he joined CCMP Capital as a private equity investment professional. While at CCMP, Ray evaluated both company and infrastructure investments in a variety of industries in both North America and Europe.
Ray holds an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, a JD from the University of Chicago Law School, and a BBA in Finance from the University of Notre Dame.

As President of Prosper Marketplace, Ron is responsible for developing and executing the business development strategy to attract borrowers to the site, as well as ensure a balance between institutional and retail investors on the Prosper platform. He brings more than 20 years experience in sales, marketing and business development across the hedge fund, broker dealer and registered investment advisor industries.
Before to joining Prosper, Ron was Managing Director at Wells Fargo Securities. Prior to Wells Fargo, Ron served as the Head of Global Sales and Marketing and Senior Partner for Merlin Securities. Ron also served as President of Spectrum Global Fund Administration, and spent 14 years at Bear Sterns where he served as Senior Managing Director and Manager of Global Clearing Sales.
Ron earned a B.A. in Economics from the University of California, Berkeley.

Since 1995, Eric has been a lecturer in accounting and real estate at the UCLA Anderson Graduate School of Management, where he has been voted Teacher of the Year thirteen times by Anderson's MBA students, and has been awarded the Citibank Teaching Award (1998) and the Neidorf Decade Teaching Award (2008), both voted upon by a committee of faculty members. He has also received recognition by Businessweek as one of the Top Ten Most Popular Business School Professors in the country. He teaches in the areas of cost/managerial accounting, financial accounting (beginning through advanced), financial statement analysis, equity valuation, corporate financial reporting, and real estate investment and finance to undergraduate, graduate, and Executive Education students.
Outside of campus, Mr. Sussman is president of Amber Capital, Inc., Manager of Fountain Management, LLC and Clear Capital, LLC, and Managing Partner of Sequoia Real Estate Partners, and the Pacific Value Opportunities Funds, which have acquired, rehabilitated, developed, and managed over two million square feet of residential and commercial real estate in the past 20 years.
He received his MBA from Stanford, with honors, in 1993, after graduating Summa cum Laude from UCLA in 1987. He is a licensed CPA in the State of California.
