The Fink Center is committed to helping our students become the next generation of industry leaders in the field of finance.

In order to fulfill this commitment, we select three types of MBA Fellows each year: Investment Banking, Investment Management, and Private Equity and Alternatives. We also select Masters in Financial Engineering Fellows who possess the expert quantitative skills needed to solve the complex challenges found in today's financial markets. All fellows are provided with financial support and invaluable mentorship from practitioners in the field.

Current Fellows

Greg Berchtold  (’20)
Investment Banking Fellow

Greg Berchtold is pursuing an MBA with an emphasis on finance at UCLA Anderson. Greg is currently serving as a Director for the Investment Finance Association. He is also an active member of the Anderson Technology Business Association. Greg will be spending his summer with Morgan Stanley's investment banking team in San Francisco.

Prior to Anderson, Greg worked for Barclays, in the investment banking division. Greg spent over four years with Barclays, where he was a member of the Mergers and Acquisitions and Acquisition Finance teams. While at Barclays, Greg executed a variety of advisory and capital markets mandates. Greg graduated from Southern Methodist University in 2013 with a B.A. in International Studies and a minor in Chinese.

 
Daehan Kim (’20)
Investment Banking Fellow

Daehan Kim (DK) is pursuing an MBA at UCLA Anderson with an emphasis on Finance. Prior to coming to Anderson, DK worked as an Analyst of Portfolio Management Group at MUFG Bank's New York branch, where he conducted financial analysis to execute new transactions and optimize the bank's risk-return profile. Some of his most recent projects at MUFG include cross-border acquisition financing and post-merger integration transactions of global pharmaceutical and chemical manufacturing companies.

DK graduated from New York University in 2012 with a B.A. in Economics. At Anderson, DK is currently a member of the Investment Finance Association and a First-Year Director for both Japan America Business Association and Anderson Wine Club. 

 
Rochak Jain(’20)
Investment Banking Fellow

Rochak Jain is pursuing an MBA at UCLA Anderson with an emphasis on Finance. Prior to Anderson, Rochak has six years of work experience spanning across consulting and banking. After completing his undergrad in Electrical Engineering from IIT Roorkee in India, he joined Deloitte as a consultant in the risk advisory services and helped multiple Fortune 500 companies across the globe transform their business and financial controls. Most recently, Rochak was an Associate at Deutsche Bank and managed a multi-billion deal portfolio of structured credit products such as CLOs which helped him develop an expertise in securitization and fixed income. He also has completed the CFA program.

Rochak is currently serving as a director for the Investment Finance Association and Anderson Impact Venture Partners, student-led impact VC fund at UCLA Anderson.

 
Tom Payton ('20)
Investment Banking Fellow

Tom Payton is pursuing an MBA at UCLA Anderson with an emphasis on Finance. Prior to Anderson, Tom worked in media as a producer and writer where he won a national advertising award for a commercial for a Fortune 1000 company and worked on CBS Corporation's Emmy Award winning TV show Nurse Jackie. Most recently as a producer, he managed multiple project teams in various stages of development, analyzing IP, streamlining communication, forecasting the buyers landscape, and leading presentations to network buyers such as Netflix and Amazon.

Tom graduated from Brown University where he studied History and Managerial Decision Making. While at Brown, Tom was a multi-sport Division I athlete as a member of both the Varsity Water Polo team & Varsity Swimming team. At Anderson, Tom is currently a member of the Investment Finance Association. 

 
Sebastian Puga (’20)
Investment Banking Fellow

Sebastian Puga is an MBA Candidate and a UCLA Anderson MBA Merit Fellow at UCLA Anderson with an emphasis on finance. Before Anderson, Sebastian worked as an Associate at a Chilean boutique investment bank, ASSET Chile, where he executed several transactions, including sell-side M&A, Debt Restructurings and Fairness Opinions for private companies in the infrastructure, energy, FIG and natural resource industries.

Sebastian graduated Summa Cum Laude from the Pontificia Universidad Catolica de Chile in 2012 with a B.Sc. in Engineering, major in Mechanics. At Anderson, Sebastian is currently serving as a First-Year Director for both the Investment Finance Association and the Latin America Business Association.

 
Jose Leon (’20)
Investment Banking Fellow

Jose Leon is pursuing an MBA with a specialization in Finance - Investment Management at the UCLA Anderson School of Management. He is a member of the Investment Finance Association and is a first-year director of the Fink Center Stock Pitch Competition.

Prior to Anderson, Jose was Deputy Manager of Equities at PICTON, Chile's largest multi-family office. In his role, he allocated funds and made investment decisions both in local and international markets for the equities portion of the portfolio which was valued at $1.2 billion. He started his career at PICTON as an Investment Analyst responsible for the utilities, telecom and IT sectors in Chile.

Jose graduated from the Pontificia Universidad Catolica de Chile in 2012 with a B.S. in Industrial Engineering and a minor in Mechanical Engineering.

 
Zach Lynch (’20)
Investment Banking Fellow

Zach is pursuing his MBA with a specialization in Finance - Investment Management at the UCLA Anderson School of Management. Zach is a member of the Investment Finance Association, a first-year director of the Fink Center Credit Pitch Competition, and a recipient of the UCLA Anderson Merit Fellowship.

Prior to Anderson, Zach was an associate director on the corporate finance team at Nasdaq in New York, where he focused on strategic initiatives, such as M&A analysis and developing Nasdaq's R&D investment framework. Zach began his career at Nasdaq in corporate treasury before transitioning to role in the Office of the CEO. Zach graduated from the University of Washington in 2012 with a B.A., With Honors, in Business Administration - Finance. Zach also earned the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation in 2016.

 
Harry Packer (’20)
Investment Banking Fellow

Harry Packer is pursuing his MBA with a specialization in Finance - Investment Management at the UCLA Anderson School of Management. He is a first-year director of the Investment Finance Association.

Prior to Anderson, Harry worked as a corporate and antitrust attorney at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, one of Europe's largest corporate law firms. At Freshfields, Harry worked on transformational M&A deals for industry leaders such as the London Stock Exchange Group, as well as Blackstone and other private equity firms. Harry also worked for a real estate development firm in Newport Beach analyzing land acquisition deals in LA and Orange County. Harry earned his B.A in Politics, Philosophy and Economics from Oxford University, where he was a member of the varsity cricket team.

 
Victoria Sikes (’20)
Investment Management Fellow

Victoria Sikes is a first year MBA student at UCLA Anderson with an emphasis in finance. She is a first-year director in the Investment Finance Association and Admission Ambassador Corps, and also is a member of the Anderson Wine Club and Outdoor Adventure Club.

Prior to Anderson, Victoria worked as a consultant at a financial advisory firm focused on intellectual property assets where she developed financial models and analysis in IP-related engagements in the context of litigation. She also worked on the corporate development team at TransUnion, which was responsible for leading company-wide strategy and executing M&A transactions. Victoria graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and is also a CFA charterholder.

 
Andy Apple (’20)
Investment Banking Fellow

Andy Apple is pursuing an MBA with a focus on finance and entrepreneurship at UCLA Anderson. Prior to Anderson, Andy spent five years at JPMorgan in New York, most recently covering early stage software, hardware, and internet & digital media companies. He is currently an MBA intern at Wavemaker Partners.

At Anderson, Andy is Director of Venture Capital for the Entrepreneur Association, Director of Alumni Relations for the Jewish Business Students Association and a member of the Investment Finance Association.

 
Ermias Nessibu  (’20)
Investment Banking Fellow

Ermias Nessibu is pursuing an MBA with an emphasis on real estate and entrepreneurship at UCLA Anderson. Prior to Anderson, Ermias worked at Pathway Capital Management as an Associate where he led new deal execution, conducting due diligence on and recommending private equity investment opportunities across various strategies. Prior to Pathway Capital, Ermias was an investment banking analyst at KPMG Corporate Finance where he advised middle-market clients on mergers and acquisitions within the business services group. During his tenure, Ermias also gained valuable transaction experience rotating through other lines of service, including KPMG's Strategy and Financial Due Diligence group.

At Anderson, Ermias is the director of private equity for the Investment Finance Association and a recipient of the Consortium fellowship. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from Old Dominion University with a B.S. in Accounting. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in the state of Virginia.
