Fink Center is committed to supporting research and the practice of finance in the Anderson community.

In order to fulfill this commitment, we select three types of fellows each year: MBA Fellows, Ph.D. Fellows and Faculty Fellows. We provide our fellows with financial support as well as valuable mentorship resources.

Current Fellows

Neil Doshi (’18)
Investment Banking Fellow

Neil Doshi is pursuing an MBA at UCLA Anderson with an emphasis on finance. Prior to Anderson, Neil was in internal strategy at United Airlines, where he worked on finding and estimating synergies and savings opportunities after the company’s merger with Continental. Before United, he worked for a startup regional airline out of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where he helped build the pricing and revenue management department. Neil graduated from Indiana University in 2012 with a B.A. in economics and a minor in chemistry.

At Anderson, Neil is a first-year director of the Investment Finance Association, section VP of academic affairs and a member of the Admissions Ambassador Corps. He is currently being recruited for investment banking here in L.A.

George Rossin (’18)
Investment Banking Fellow

George Rossin is pursuing an MBA at UCLA Anderson with an emphasis on finance. Prior to attending Anderson, George worked as a software engineer at Chopper Trading LLC, Optiver US LLC and Citadel LLC in Chicago, focusing on developing trading algorithms. George graduated from Duke University in 2009 with a B.S. in electrical engineering and computer science, and went on to get his M.S. in electrical engineering at Stanford University in 2011.

 
Joyce Truong (’18)
Investment Banking Fellow

Joyce Truong is pursuing an MBA at UCLA Anderson with an emphasis on finance. Prior to attending Anderson, Joyce worked on Google’s compensation team. At Google, Joyce led the modeling efforts and cross-functional discussions with partners from HR, finance and other business units to determine parameters for the annual bonuses of more than 42,000 Google employees. Prior to Google, Joyce was at L.E.K. Consulting, where she served major health services and private equity clients.

Joyce graduated from Stanford in 2011 with a B.A. in human biology and an M.S. in management science and engineering. At UCLA Anderson, Joyce is a Forté Fellow and a first-year director for the Investment Finance Association, Net Impact, Women’s Business Connection and Anderson Basketball Club.

Ned Daoro (’18)
Investment Management Fellow

Ned Daoro is pursuing an MBA with an emphasis on finance at UCLA Anderson. Before attending Anderson, Ned was a corporate strategy and development associate at MUFG Union Bank in San Francisco. At MUFG, he worked on acquisitions, divestitures and other enterprise-level strategic initiatives. Prior to MUFG, he worked as an equity research associate at investment bank Sandler O’Neill + Partners in San Francisco, covering financial institution securities. Ned graduated from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, where he earned his B.S. in business administration with a concentration in finance and accounting.

 
Spenser May (’18)
Investment Management Fellow

Spenser May is pursuing his MBA with a concentration in finance at the UCLA Anderson School of Management. He is a member of the Investment Finance Association and a first-year director of the Anderson Investment Association.

Prior to arriving at Anderson, Spenser was a research associate at Hotchkis & Wiley Capital Management. As a research associate, Spenser conducted fundamental research on global equities and high-yield credits within the technology and consumer sectors. He started his career at Wilshire Associates, where he was responsible for manager due diligence. Spenser graduated from the University of Richmond and is a CFA charter holder.

Lakshmi Swaminathan (’18)
Investment Management Fellow

Lakshmi Swaminathan is pursuing her MBA with a concentration in finance and investment management at the UCLA Anderson School of Management. She is a member of the Investment Finance Association and Women’s Business Connection, and serves on the ASA section leadership team. Before attending Anderson, Lakshmi was a business analyst for the platform management and development team at AIG Advisor Group in New York City, where she managed projects pertaining to platform pricing reviews, system enhancements, new platform strategies and the investment advisory services section of their advisor portal.

Prior to joining AIG Advisor Group, Lakshmi worked at S&P Capital IQ, where she started as a project manager in their equity research department and was later promoted to manage all operations for the global investment advisory services team. She graduated cum laude with honors from Arizona State University, where she earned her B.S. in marketing, and was on the W.P. Carey School of Business Dean’s List.

Brandon Child ('18)
Private Equity and Alternatives Fellow

Brandon Child is pursuing an MBA with an emphasis on finance and entrepreneurship at UCLA Anderson. Prior to Anderson, Brandon worked in sales at two venture-backed cloud software companies in Palo Alto, and before that in finance at Apple. Brandon is also an entrepreneur and he co-founded a business as an undergraduate that has gone on to become one of the top producers of condiments in the natural foods space. Brandon is a first-year director of venture capital for the Entrepreneur Association and a member of the Investment Finance Association.

 
Daniel Kerley (’18)
Private Equity and Alternatives Fellow

Daniel Kerley is pursuing an MBA with an emphasis in finance and entrepreneurship at UCLA Anderson. Prior to Anderson, Daniel was an investor and advisor to PRL, a 40-year-old family-owned business providing laboratory and pathology services in the Kansas City metropolitan area. He served as a member of the transaction team, advising and running the sale process of PRL to Lab Corp (NYSE: LH).

Prior to the PRL transaction, Daniel spent four years in San Francisco as an investment analyst, investing across public and private equities for multi-billion-dollar funds, including SPO Partners & Scout Capital Management. Daniel began his finance career in New York as an analyst for Morgan Stanley’s investment banking practice, advising health care clients on mergers and acquisitions and capital markets. Daniel graduated summa cum laude with a B.A. in economics from Colgate University, where he was an academic all-America selection and captain of the men’s soccer team.

Jonathan Sinnott (’18)
Private Equity and Alternatives Fellow

Jonathan Sinnott is pursuing an MBA with an emphasis on finance at UCLA Anderson. Jonathan is a director of private equity for the Investment Finance Association and a recipient of a UCLA Anderson Merit Fellowship. Prior to Anderson, Jonathan was an associate in Oaktree Capital’s private equity group, the Global Principal Group.

While at Oaktree Jonathan had several responsibilities, including financial analysis, modeling, deal structuring and monitoring several portfolio companies. Prior to working at Oaktree, Jonathan was an investment banking analyst for Credit Suisse. At Credit Suisse, Jonathan worked largely with the financial sponsors group. He graduated from the University of Pennsylvania, where he earned his B.A. in philosophy, political science and economics.

Julian Trobe (’18)
Private Equity and Alternatives Fellow

Julian Trobe is pursuing an MBA with an emphasis on finance and sustainability at UCLA Anderson. Prior to Anderson, Julian served as vice president for several boutique investment banking firms, including Keystone Capital Markets and Ascendiant Capital Markets, where he provided advisory in mergers and acquisitions, equity and debt private placements, and leveraged buy-outs across a variety of industries. Fluent in Mandarin Chinese, he also gained experience in cross-border capital markets transactions, primarily involving China.

At Anderson, Julian is a director of career development for the Energy Management Group and a recipient of a UCLA Anderson Merit Fellowship. He graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of California, Berkeley, with a B.A. in economics and Chinese.
