Antony Ressler
Chairman, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer
Ares Management L.P.

Mr. Ressler co-founded Ares Management LLC in 1997, an asset management firm with approximately $85 billion in AUM with a focus on 'alternative assets' (i.e leveraged loans, HY bonds, distressed debt, private/mezzanine debt, structured credit, commercial real estate and private equity) managed through a variety of funds and investment vehicles. Ares has approximately 750 employees with offices in Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, Dallas, London, Paris, Frankfurt, Stockholm and Shanghai. Mr. Ressler also co-founded Apollo Management, L.P in 1990, a publicly traded investment firm based in New York. Prior to 1990, Mr. Ressler served as a Senior Vice President in the High Yield Bond Department of Drexel Burnham Lambert Incorporated, with responsibility for the New Issue/Syndicate Desk.

Antony Ressler

Mr. Ressler also co-founded Apollo Management, L.P in 1990, a publicly traded investment firm based in New York. Mr. Ressler serves on several boards of directors including Ares Management, LP and Ares Capital Corp ("ARCC") as well as several private companies owned or controlled by Ares investment funds.
In the Not for Profit sector, Mr. Ressler serves as a member of the Board of Directors of the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center ("Cedars"), as Co-Finance Chair & member of the Board of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art ("LACMA") and as a member of the Board of Trustees of Georgetown University. He is also one of the founding members of the board and Co-Finance Chair of the Painted Turtle Camp (affiliated with Paul Newman's Hole in the Wall Association) which serves children dealing with chronic & life-threatening illnesses by providing old-fashioned camping experiences.
In the charter/public education sector, Mr, Ressler is a Founder & Board Co-Chair of the Alliance for College Ready Public Schools ("Alliance"). Since 2004, the Alliance has grown to 26 free, public charter middle & high schools serving approx. 11,000 from the poorest communities with historically underperforming schools. Four Alliance schools have been named California Distinguished Schools and 3 are ranked in the top 10 of all LAUSD schools. More than 90% of Alliance graduates have gone on to college. Mr. Ressler received his B.S.F.S. from Georgetown University's School of Foreign Service and received his MBA from Columbia University's Graduate School of Business.

Keith Luna, CFA
Portfolio Manager, Western Asset Management

Keith Luna is a portfolio manager covering long-duration fixed income for Western Asset Management. He has been with Western for more than 10 years, working in several capacities including analytics/risk management and portfolio analysis. Prior to working on the long duration team, Luna ran portfolios in the Core and Core Plus fixed-income space as part of the generalist portfolio management team. His focus has primarily been on U.S. interest rate markets and economics, managing the overall interest rate exposure and asset allocation in the portfolios. He earned a B.A. in economics/business and philosophy at Westmont College and an MBA from UCLA Anderson, with a focus on finance. He is also a Chartered Financial Analyst charterholder.

 
Luz Padilla
Director, Emerging Markets & Fixed Income, DoubleLine

Luz Padilla joined DoubleLine in 2009 as the director of the emerging markets group and is the lead portfolio manager. Prior to DoubleLine, she was a managing director at TCW. She began working at TCW in 1994, where she served in a number of roles of increasing responsibility with the group, including credit analyst, director of research, co-portfolio manager since December 2001 and lead portfolio manager since October 2006. She was involved in all aspects of building and managing TCW’s emerging markets fixed-income business, including credit, securitization, trading and marketing. Padilla attended University of California, Berkeley as a fellow of the Robert A. Toigo Foundation and graduated with an MBA in 1994. Padilla received her B.A. in economics in 1989 from Stanford University.

 
Marc Seidner
CIO, Nontraditional Strategies, PIMCO

Marc Seidner is CIO of nontraditional Strategies, a managing director and head of portfolio management in the New York office of PIMCO. He is also a generalist portfolio manager and a member of the investment committee. He rejoined PIMCO in November 2014 after serving as head of fixed income at GMO LLC. Previously, he was a PIMCO managing director, generalist portfolio manager and member of the investment committee until January 2014. Prior to joining PIMCO initially in 2009, he was a managing director and domestic fixed-income portfolio manager at Harvard Management Company. Previously, he was director of active core strategies at Standish Mellon Asset Management and a senior portfolio manager at Fidelity Management and Research. He has 27 years of investment experience and holds an undergraduate degree in economics from Boston College.

 
Kevin Bekas
MBA Class of 2015

Kevin Bekas is pursuing his MBA with a concentration in finance/ investment management at the UCLA Anderson School of Management. Prior to business school, Bekas spent four years in KPMG LLP’s Financial Risk Management practice specializing in fixed-income and derivative valuations, and interest rate risk hedging strategies. Earlier in his career, Bekas worked in public accounting conducting financial statement audits for large publicly traded companies primarily in the real estate and banking industries. Bekas holds a degree in business/economics with a minor in Accounting from UCLA, is a licensed CPA in the State of California, and was awarded the CFA designation in 2011. Bekas recently completed a summer internship at DoubleLine Capital in their Global Developed Credit Group.

 
Adam Epstein
Portfolio Manager, MAZE Investments

Adam Epstein has worked in the investment industry since 2002 as an equity analyst and portfolio analyst at firms including J.P. Morgan, Wellington Management and Poplar Forest Capital (lineage to the Capital Group). At J.P. Morgan, his team was ranked among “the best on the Street” by both Institutional Investor and Greenwich Associates. Epstein received a B.A. in economics from the University of Michigan followed by an M.A. with distinction in economics from the University of California, Santa Barbara. Epstein earned an MBA from UCLA Anderson and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.

 
Mike LaSalle
Partner, Shamrock Capital Advisors

Mike LaSalle is a partner of Shamrock Capital Advisors. He currently serves as a director of FanDuel, Giant Creative/Strategy, INgrooves, and Mojiva. Previously, LaSalle served on the boards of Harlem Globetrotters International, Media Storm and Modern Luxury Media. Prior to joining Shamrock, LaSalle was an associate and analyst at Putnam Lovell Securities focusing on mergers and acquisitions in the financial services industry. LaSalle graduated magna cum laude from the University of Notre Dame and earned an MBA from the UCLA Anderson School of Management as a Venture Fellow.

 
Brendan Ross
President & Portfolio Manager, Direct Lending Investments LLC

Brendan Ross is the president of Direct Lending Investments LLC, the general partner of the oldest and largest short-term, high-yield, small business loans fund. An expert in alternative assets, Ross has directed the purchase of more peer-to-peer originated U.S. small business loans than any other institutional investor. Previously, Ross was a turnaround CEO and ran a number of companies, including ReserveAmerica and Fanfare Media Works. Ross began his career at Mercer Management Consulting (now Oliver Wyman), where he worked for a variety of clients, including United Airlines, Bank of America and AOL. He left Mercer to join MediaOne’s newly formed strategy group.

Ross’ business experiences include leading a product management team at Ticketmaster, where he received two patents for Ticketmaster Auctions. He has served as CEO of a number of companies, including ReserveAmerica, the world’s largest outdoor recreation reservation company, and local advertising leader Fanfare Media Works.
Regularly cited by top-tier media outlets such as the Wall Street Journal, Investment News, Bloomberg, Fox Business News and others, Ross is a go- to source for information and analysis concerning the growing peer-to-peer and small business lending sectors.
Ross graduated with honors from Brown University with a double major in economics and sociology. He lives with his wife and two children in La Canada, located just north of Los Angeles.

Scott Warner
Managing Director and Sector Specialist, PAAMCO

Scott Warner is a managing director and sector specialist for both the North American long/short equity and equity market neutral strategies at PAAMCO. He focuses on the evaluation and management of managers in those sectors. He also serves as the portfolio manager and main point of contact for certain institutional investor relationships and is responsible for portfolio construction of equity-focused customized solutions. He is a member of the Investment Oversight Committee. Warner joined PAAMCO as part of its portfolio management group in 2006. Prior to PAAMCO, he worked in the investment management division at Goldman Sachs in Los Angeles. Warner received his MBA in finance from UCLA Anderson and also holds a B.A. in business-economics (cum laude) from UCLA.

 
James Fletcher
Portfolio Manager and Research Analyst, Kayne Anderson Rudnick Investment Management

James Fletcher is a portfolio manager and a senior research analyst with primary research responsibilities for the Emerging Markets Small Cap Portfolio. Before joining Kayne Anderson Rudnick in 2013, Fletcher worked at Westwood Global Investments as a senior research analyst and before that at Nightwatch Capital as a research analyst. He has approximately 10 years of equity research experience. Fletcher earned a B.S. in finance from the Brigham Young University, where he graduated with University Honors and summa cum laude. Fletcher is a Chartered Financial Analyst charterholder.

Prior to joining Canyon in 1998, Ms. Mielle worked as an Analyst with Lehman Brothers, Inc. in the Financial Institutions Group, where she focused on mergers and acquisitions. She also worked as an Associate at Libra Investments, Inc. in the Corporate Finance department where she covered middle market companies. Ms. Mielle graduated from Ecole des Hautes Etudes Commerciales in France (BS, International Management) and Stanford University Business School (MBA Finance).

Jeffrey Van Harte
Chairman and Chief Investment Officer, Jackson Square Partners

Jeffrey Van Harte is chairman and chief investment officer of Jackson Square Partners LLC (JSP) and oversees $25 billion of equity growth portfolios. JSP was officially formed on May 1, 2014, and caters to large institutional clients, both domestic and international. JSP is an employee, majority-owned investment management company that was spun out of Delaware Investments. Prior to joining JSP, he was the chief investment officer of Delaware Investments’ Focus Growth Equity team from April 2005 to April 2014. JSP manages large-cap growth, smid-cap growth, all-cap growth, and global growth portfolios. Van Harte received his bachelor’s degree in finance from California State University at Fullerton in 1980 and earned his Chartered Financial Analyst designation in 1984.

 
James Wong
Principal, Payden & Rygel

James Wong is a principal and co-manager of both the domestic large-cap and global equity strategies at Payden & Rygel. Wong has nearly 20 years of equity portfolio management experience and has managed the breadth of equity styles and market capitalizations. Wong is also a member of the firm’s investment policy committee and oversees the corporate research effort.

Before joining Payden & Rygel, Wong was a trader at Union Bank of Switzerland, where he focused on mortgage-backed securities. Previously, he was in the corporate finance group at Salomon Brothers Inc.
Wong holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation and the FINRA series 7, 3 and 63 licenses. He earned an MBA from UCLA Anderson School of Management. Wong received a B.S. in economics from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania with a concentration in finance.

Timothy Davidson
Vice President and Senior Equity Research Analyst, HighMark Capital Management

Timothy Davidson is a senior equity analyst for HighMark Capital Management, a $15B asset management firm. He joined the Value Equity Strategy Group in 2008, with primary coverage responsibility for the Healthcare and Finance sectors. Davidson has more than 12 years investment management and capital markets experience with firms including Sanford Bernstein and Nuveen Investments. Davidson received a MBA in finance and strategy from the UCLA Anderson School of Management and a Bachelor’s degree in finance from Abilene Christian University. In addition, Davidson is an active member of the CFA Society of Los Angeles and is a CFA charter holder.
