The 3rd Annual UCLA Investing Conference 2014
LOS ANGELES (Feb. 6, 2014) - Building on the success of last year, UCLA Anderson School of Management hosted its 3rd Annual UCLA Anderson Investing Conference on Feb. 7, 2014. Nearly 400 students, faculty, alumni, and industry professionals gathered at the event, where they heared from industry leaders on a broad swath of topics impacting the capital markets and broader economy.
The Investing Conference featured a series of lectures and financial panel discussions, and culminated with a keynote address by Steven Romick, managing partner at First Pacific Advisors. FPA is a leading L.A.-based investment firm that manages $28 billion across five equity strategies and one fixed income strategy. Morningstar, Inc., recently named Romick its 2013 Allocation Fund Manager of the Year.
"We sourced leading academics and professionals from the areas of behavioral finance, credit, equities and real estate to share their insights during an arguably pivotal year in the economic and market cycles," said Brian Gelfand, executive vice president of the UCLA Anderson Investment Association (AIA). The AIA co-sponsors the annual event, along with the Laurence and Lori Fink Center for Finance & Investments and Kenneth Broad ('94).
Other featured speakers included executives from Delaware Investments, PIMCO, PAAMCO, Glendon Capital Management, Oaktree Capital Management, Canyon Capital Advisors, Wells Fargo, The Resmark Companies, Green Street Advisors and Luminous Capital. Discussions revolved around topics such as "Behavioral Finance in the Digital Age," "Equity Investing: Uncovering Opportunities in Bull Markets," "Global Credit: Navigating Uncertain Waters," and "U.S. Real Estate: From Boom, To Bust, To Rebound, To..."
