Dennis Keegan manages private funds and currently is starting an investment company. In August 1995, he resigned from Salomon Brothers, Inc., where he had been global head of arbitrage,
chairman of the risk management committee, and a member of the firm’s executive committee.
Keegan began working in Salomon Brothers’ foreign exchange trading department in New York in 1980. He moved to London in 1983 to head Salomon’s foreign exchange trading in Europe
and was promoted in 1988 to co-head of fixed income trading. In 1991, he became co-head of fixed income and equity businesses in Europe, a position that expanded the following year to co-chief
executive in Europe.
In late 1993, Salomon Brothers brought Keegan, who was already on the executive committee, back to New York to bolster its risk management. His original task was to take over management of the New York arbitrage group, but soon his responsibilities increased to include the firm’s global proprietary activities and risk management functions.
Keegan serves on the board of the Brunswick School and Community Centers, Inc.
He holds a bachelor of arts in economics from UCLA and an MBA in finance from UCLA Anderson School of Management. He served in the U.S. Army from 1974 to 1978.
