Villanova University School of Law Part of The Jeffrey S. Moorad Sports Law Journal Symposium
The 2nd Annual Game Day Sports Case Competition is the only sports case competition that brings together MBA and JD student to take a multidisciplinary approach to analyzing, presenting and negotiating solutions to real-world business problems. Teams will compete for a $10,000 prize. Winners are selected by a blue-ribbon panel of senior executives who are leading and shaping the future of the sports industry.
2014 Event Highlights
The 2014 competition brought together 18 teams from the nation’s top business and law schools to compete. The day also included a business of sports panel.

Each Spring, Villanova University School of Law presents its Jeffrey S. Moorad Sports Law Symposium, which tackles the day’s hottest topics, from “Moneyball” to concussions to super agents and more. Featuring a “who’s who” of the sports industry, guest speakers at the symposium have included Billy Beane, Vice President, General Manager, Oakland Athletics; Tom Condon, Co-Chief of Creative Artist Agency-Football Division; David Cornwell, Gordon & Rees LLP, Counsel for Alex Rodriguez and Jonathan Martin; Leigh Steinberg, CEO of Steinberg Sports and Entertainment; Arn Tellem, Vice-Chairman of Wasserman Media Group; Sol Weiss VLS ’72, Co-lead Counsel in NFL Concussion Injury Litigation; and Brian Westbrook VSB '01, former NFL running back (Philadelphia Eagles, San Francisco 49ers) and commentator for Comcast SportsNet.
