>>Advanced International Management Certificate

A specialization in Global Management is also offered in the fully employed and executive MBA programs - formerly known as the Advanced International Management (AIM) Certificate. This has been customized to fit the needs of students and opportunities available in each respective professional MBA program. FEMBA and EMBA students must declare their intention to participate and must submit a preliminary study plan to their program's Director of Student Affairs following the second year of study.

      International Business Economics or The Global Economy required
      Global Access Program  required   

      This is a core course in the FEMBA program.

      AIM students should conduct primary research and travel internationally

      Global Immersion Program or Fully Employed MBA Exchange Program one Each of these courses are 4 unit electives
      Global Elective Courses three In addition to the Global Immersion Programs and Exchange offerings, a variety of global elective courses are offered to FEMBA students
      Global Management Speaker and Lecture Series four*

      Summary submission to be submitted to CGM. Visit Events page for upcoming eligible events.

      *Two out of the four events can be viewed via live streaming or video posted to the video gallery section of the CGM web site.

      Students must complete a one to two page write-up within one month of attending the lecture and submit it to CGM. These summaries will not be graded. Each summary should address the following:

      • Lecture description (date, topic, speaker, key themes)
      • Key points and ideas learned from the lecture
      • Relevance of the lecture and the applicability of the information provided to doing business internationally
      • Overall evaluation of the event including quality and clarity of presentation, rigor of ideas presented, extent of the value added to your understanding of the topic, etc.

       

      Intention to Participate

      FEMBA students must declare their intention to participate in AIM and must submit a preliminary study plan to the FEMBA Director of Student Affairs after their second year of study.

    • Courses
      Economic Analysis for Managers  required (4 units)  This is a core course in the EMBA program. 
      Global Immersion Program 4 credit units Each of these courses are 4 unit electives
      Executive MBA Exchange Program  2 or 4 credit units Offered in one week "block" sessions
      Global Elective Courses 8 credit units   

      In addition to the Global Immersion Programs and Exchange offerings, a variety of two-unit global elective courses are offered to EMBA students in the June and September EMBA block sessions

      Strategic Management Research Project required (10 units) This is a core course in the EMBA program. It must have an acceptable international component
      International Business Seminar required (2 units) This is a core course in the EMBA program

      Final Report required Students are required to submit  a 5-6 page report to the EMBA Director of Student Affairs summarizing the main content of their educational courses, commenting on what they learned, and expounding on how they feel the international exposure they gained while at UCLA Anderson will impact and contribute to their career objectives.
