Language courses have been offered for more than 20 years. In collaboration with the UCLA Center for World Languages, the Center for Global Management offers beginning-level elective courses. A beginning-level elective course in "Spanish Language and Culture for Business" was available to MBA students during the winter quarter, and a continuation class was offered during the spring quarter. The objective of the course is to familiarize students with Spanish language and culture at a practical level, focusing mainly on communicative proficiency, basic grammar and common vocabulary appropriate to business settings. Given the strong correlation between language and culture, the course also introduces students to basic cultural understanding and business etiquette.
