This course will explore how firms create competitive advantage through innovations-of products, services and processes. We will examine how these innovations are introduced in mid-sized firms and larger corporate environments, with cases from healthcare, high technology, consumer products and other industries. In addition, the class will discuss and then utilize insight-generation and product concept brainstorming methods that combine the best of rigorous innovation strategy frameworks and creative, design-inspired approaches.
