Responsibilities
Liaison to Central Campus Units
Payables
The Business Office processes most financial transactions for UCLA Anderson. Transactions and orders are initiated by the individual unit and then forwarded to the assigned Business Office Fund Manager. The Fund Manager reviews the provided documents for adherence to University policies and procedures, and the documents are subsequently forwarded to the appropriate campus unit for final review and processing.
Examples of financial transactions include:
- Vendor invoice payments
- Travel expense reports
- Reimbursement requests
- Low Value Orders (LVOs)
- Purchase requisitions
Receivables
The Business Office arranges for department check deposits received from individual units.
Check deposits may be for the following purposes:
- Income
- Reimbursement
- Gift
Contracts and Grants
The Business Office assists UCLA Anderson principal investigators with the administering of contracts and grants.
Primary duties relating to contracts and grants include:
- Provide financial information needed for the preparation of proposals
- Act as a liasion to the UCLA Proposal & Award Resource Center (PARC) which provides services for all aspects of proposal preparation and submission
- Monitor financial transactions to ensure compliance with University policies and procedures and with terms and conditions of the sponsor
Financial Management
The Business Office is charged with the financial management of UCLA Anderson to ensure compliance with UCOP, UCLA, and government policies.
Primary duties relating to financial management include:
- Establish and adhere to annual budgets
- Monitor and evaluate financial data through review of general ledgers and financial reports
- Analyze costs, benefits, and risks associated with the School's activities
- Safeguard the School's assets from loss or unauthorized use

The Business Office works in conjunction with several campus units to assist with the processing of financial transactions and the adherence to University guidelines.

- Accounts Payable
- Travel Accounting

- Extramural Fund Management
