Class of 2016

David Barta


David Barta is a full-time student at UCLA Anderson focusing on quantitative asset management. He graduated summa cum laude from the University of Minnesota with a BS in Mathematics/Computer Science. David's original love of programming came in high school when he learned to program his calculator to calculate digits of Pi and to optimally play and bet at Blackjack. Prior to joining Anderson, David worked at Thomson-Reuters (software engineering), Delta and American Airlines (internal consulting), and The Vanguard Group (client advisor). David spent the summer interning at Dimensional Fund Advisors as a portfolio manager and will start full-time work at PAAMCO after graduation.


Leif Brustuen


Leif Brustuen is a Financial Management Officer for the United States Air Force for whom he currently manages over $400M in a portfolio of research & development budgets at the Air Force's Space and Missile Systems Center in El Segundo. Leif graduated from the United States Air Force Academy in 2009 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Systems Engineering Management. He is a member of the UCLA Anderson FEMBA Class of 2017 and is focusing his studies in finance.


Joseph Chun 

Joseph Chun is pursuing an MBA at UCLA Anderson with emphasis on international finance and investment management. Before Anderson, Joseph was a compliance analyst at OppenheimerFunds, Inc. where he strengthened oversight controls and uncovered risk through interpreting portfolio guidelines for equities, fixed income, and derivative accounts. Prior to OppenheimerFunds, Joseph spent two years at Western Asset Management Company reducing volatility by researching and analyzing trade activity of fixed income and derivative securities. Before Western, Joseph was paralegal for two years at Quinn Emmanuel Urquhart Oliver & Hedges where he assisted attorneys for trial preparation. Joseph graduated from University of California, Irvine with a double major in Psychology and Criminology in 2004. He is a CFA charterholder and a member of CFALA.


Eric Dixit, VP Finance 

Eric Dixit is currently working as a private equity professional at OpenGate Capital. With 10 years of work experience, he has served in audit, securitization, and valuation roles at Deloitte and Deutsche Bank. His volunteer experience includes mentoring inner-city high school students and providing credit analysis to a microfinance institution. Eric has earned a Bachelor's of Business Administration and a Master's of Accounting from the University of Southern California. He is a Certified Public Accountant and is progressing towards becoming a CFA Charterholder. Eric is a part of the FEMBA Class of 2017.


Jordan Fettman 


Jordan Fettman is a Director of Foreign Exchange at Beach Point Capital Management.  He has 8 years of experience in the financial services industry- all at fixed income investment managers.  Prior to Beach Point, Jordan was a Foreign Exchange Trader at Payden & Rygel where he was responsible for FX trade execution and strategy.  Jordan graduated with distinction from the University of Colorado with a bachelor's degree in Business and a concentration in Finance.  He has been a CFA Charterholder since 2012 and is a member of the FEMBA Class of 2017.


Ahmed Gad


Ahmed Gad is a Product Manager at Google with the Google Cloud Platform team. Prior to that, he worked as a software engineer at Google with the Maps imagery team and at Microsoft with the Bing! mobile team. Ahmed holds a BSc. in computer and systems engineering from University of Alexandria in Egypt and a MSc. in computer science from the Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona in Spain. He is a member of the FEMBA Class of 2016 focusing in entrepreneurship and finance.

Shawn Hsieh


Shawn Hsieh is an Investment Analyst at Prudential, and his current responsibilities include financial modeling, investment researching and advising, and assist in managing a MVO-based strategy fund with $400 million assets under management. He has over 7 years in the financial services industry. Prior to joining Prudential, he owned a Real Estate brokerage firm that specializes in multi-family transactions and vacant parcel developments, as well as a travel agency specializing in cruise-lines.
Shawn is a Certified Financial Planner® professional and a CFA level II candidate. He also holds Series 7, 66, and a Real Estate Broker's license. He is a member of the FEMBA Class of 2017 with a concentration in finance and entrepreneurship.  

Teddy Levitt, President


Teddy Levitt is a Relationship Manager on the institutional client services team at Causeway Capital Management. Teddy joined Causeway in 2012 as a member of its Sales & Marketing team and was promoted to the client services team in late 2013. Prior to Causeway, Teddy was a financial analyst for the Theme Parks and Resorts division of The Walt Disney Company, focusing primarily on external communications. Teddy earned his BA in International Relations from Stanford University. He currently holds FINRA series 7 and 65 securities registrations and is pursuing his MBA at the Anderson School of Management at the University of California, Los Angeles, focusing in finance.



Jonathan Liang 

Jonathan Liang is currently a Director of Software Engineering at ZestFinance, an analytics technology startup in Los Angeles that aims to change the world of consumer credit.  Prior to his current role, Jonathan was a Vice President in the Fixed Income Research division at Lehman Brothers (and then Barclays Capital) in New York, where he was responsible for CMBS-sector analytics utilized by research, trading and institutional clients globally.  Jonathan graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with dual bachelor degrees in Computer Science Engineering and Economics.  He is currently part of the FEMBA Class of 2016 and focusing on finance.  



Sam Lin


Sam Lin is pursuing an MBA at UCLA Anderson with emphasis on international finance and investment management. Before Anderson, Sam was an analyst at Pacific Alternative Asset Management Company (PAAMCO), where he oversaw risk management and valuation for the company's portfolio of hedge funds. Prior to PAAMCO, Sam spent three years in the entertainment industry, first as a personal finance manager for Hollywood A-listers, and then as a corporate accountant at Arclight Theaters. Sam graduated from UCLA with a degree in Business Economics in 2008. He is a licensed CPA and CFA charterholder.  

Jesse Lott, VP External 


Jesse Lott is a Vice President and Portfolio Manager with U.S. Trust. In his role, he manages the investment process for high net worth families and their philanthropic institutions. Prior to joining U.S. Trust, Jesse completed internships with Morgan Stanley and Merrill Lynch. He received a BBA in Finance from University of San Diego in 2008, is a CFA Charterholder, and is a member of the CFA institute. Jesse is a member of the FEMBA Class of 2017.


Jennifer Niu, VP Internal


Jennifer Niu is pursuing an MBA at UCLA Anderson focusing on finance and strategy. She graduated from University of California, Santa Barbara with a B.S. in biochemistry and molecular biology. Jennifer did business development and marketing for a pharmacy startup and sales for four years prior to Anderson. She hopes to leverage her background in the healthcare and biotechnology industries to a career in asset management.

Joon Young Park


Joon Park is a full-time student at UCLA Anderson concentrating in finance and focusing on investment management. Prior to pursuing his MBA, Joon spent 7 years at the Korea Exchange (a stock and derivatives exchange) as a project manager and a regulator. During this time he specialized in new product design and implementation of exchange traded products including ETFs and Covered Warrants. Before he joined the Exchange, he served as an Associate of Investor Relations at LG International. In 2012 Joon passed the CFA Level II exam.

Nick Rogov

Originally from Europe, Nick for four years advised power & utilities, resources, technology, and energy companies on execution of equity and debt offerings, and strategic acquisitions while working in investment banking in Toronto. He also searched for targets and assisted with execution of principal investments in infrastructure and private-public-partnership mandates as part of Macquarie Capital. More recently, Nick was a co-founder and led business development for a number of startups in crowdfunding, education, and programmatic ad trading space. He graduated with high distinction from the University of Toronto with a bachelor's in Finance, Economics, and Computer Engineering. He is a CFA charterholder since 2012 and is pursuing an MBA from the UCLA Anderson School of Management.


Mark Sato

Mark Sato is a licensed CPA and currently works as an Audit Manager at PwC in the Asset Management Practice. Prior to joining PwC, Mark worked as a Financial Advisor, where he held a Series 7 and 63 license. He graduated from UCLA in 2003 with a Bachelor's of Arts Degree in Economics and a minor in Political Science. He is a member of the UCLA Anderson FEMBA Class of 2017 and is focusing his studies in finance and entrepreneurship.


 



Douglas Stewart 

 After graduating from the University of Virginia with a BS in Systems Engineering, Doug spent a year on the ATP Tour playing professional tennis.  After a short but successful stint on the Tour, he joined Brown Brothers Harriman in New York as a Treasury Services Analyst where he worked in the overnight market.  In 2009, Doug moved back home to Los Angeles where he started his own tennis academy.  Though he loves being an entrepreneur and teacher, Doug is using his time in the FEMBA program at Anderson to transition into a career in asset management.  Doug is a CFA Level II candidate.




  

Anderson Student Asset Management (ASAM)
