Daniel Bang

Daniel is a full-time 2007 MBA candidate at the UCLA Anderson School of Management.
Prior to school, Daniel worked in a strategic planning and business development role at NBC Universal in their Home Entertainment division, focusing his attention on developing a forecast model and evaluating new strategic business initiatives.
In 2001, he joined the Communications and Media Investment Banking Group at Lehman Brothers upon graduating with a B.A. in Economics from the University of California, Berkeley.
Daniel’s interests include basketball, football and promoting Asian American culture

 

Greg Brandes

Greg is a full time 2007 MBA candidate at the UCLA Anderson School of Management. Prior to attending business school, Greg worked as a management consultant for UMS Group, specializing in asset and performance management services for utilities. Greg worked on a wide variety of engagements, including developing capital budgeting models for over $2 billion in annual spending, creating M&A prediction models targeting the utility industry, and redesigning the asset structure of state-owned international utilities.
Greg graduated from Dartmouth College in 2002 with a B.A. in Government. During the summer of 2006, Greg will be working for Trust Company of the West in Los Angeles, California as an Equity Research Analyst

 

James Chen

James Chen is a full time MBA student at UCLA Anderson focusing on finance and investment management. Prior to UCLA Anderson, James worked for a cutting-edge software start-up, Plumtree Software, where he developed applications for the emerging corporate portal market. James later moved into a lead role where he developed project plans, led training seminars, and acted as technical expert on projects that resulted in expanded portal capabilities and usage. James graduated from Berkeley in 1999 with degrees in business and computer science. During the summer of 2006 James will be working in equity research at Wedbush Morgan Securities covering telecommunications

 

Rich Colasuonno

Richard Colasuonno is a first year M.B.A. candidate at the UCLA Anderson School of Management focusing on finance and strategy. He currently is a member of the Investment Finance Club and was selected as a Fellow of the Anderson Student Asset Management Fund, a student-run investment fund with over $500,000 of assets under management. Richard currently serves as the fund?s Treasurer.
Prior to attending UCLA Anderson, Richard worked for Lehman Brothers, a global investment bank serving the financial needs of corporations, institutions, governments and high-net-worth investors worldwide. Based in New York, he worked for three years in the Private Equity Marketing Group where he placed over $3.5 billion of U.S. and International private equity funds, performing origination, marketing and positioning. Prior to this, Richard evaluated and completed mid to late stage venture investments in the U.S. and Europe on behalf of Lehman?s $800 million Communications Venture Capital Fund focused on the communications and media industries.
Richard graduated Summa Cum Laude from Cornell University where he received a B.S. in Applied Economics and Management

 

Paresh Desai

Paresh is a 2007 MBA candidate at the UCLA Anderson School of Management. While attending business school, Paresh creates innovative products that enhance user experience with his team at Nokia Design. During the last 10 years at Nokia, he has been thankful for the challenges that have deepened his understanding of global business and culture through interactions with European customers and Asian suppliers. While on assignment in Denmark, he led the development team for the popular 6310 flagship program, which directly contributed to Nokia’s dominant European market share. Paresh is excited about the opportunity to work with the school’s top students and investigate strategies that will increase the value of the ASAM portfolio next year. After graduation, Paresh seeks an opportunity to leverage his 16 years of Operational and Marketing experience with his UCLA Anderson Finance focus at a firm with shared values. Paresh graduated with honors from Kettering University, formerly GMI, in 1994 with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. In his part time, he is actively involved in local Special Olympic volunteer events and mentoring high school students through ICouldBe.org.

 

David Garnett

Dave is a 2007 FEMBA Candidate at UCLA Anderson School of Management. Dave currently works at Dun and Bradstreet as a Relationship Manager. Prior to that, Dave started his own company-Gnett Communications, LLC to consult iAM Solutions based in Virginia. Dave started his corporate career with jobs at Merrill Lynch and Trust Company of the West most recently before coming to Anderson. Dave is a Retired NFL Linebacker having played for the Minnesota Vikings and the Denver Broncos. Dave graduated from Stanford University with a degree in Political Science. Dave is married to his lovely wife Tracey and has 3 great kids
 

Marc Goldberg

Marc is a full time 2007 MBA candidate at the UCLA Anderson School of Management, focusing on finance and entrepreneurship. He is one of ten full-time MBA students selected to manage a portion of UCLA's endowment through Anderson Student Asset Management. He is a member of the Entrepreneurship Association and Investment Finance Club. Marc graduated from UCLA in 2000 with a B.A. in Business-Economics and a Minor in Accounting.
Prior to attending business school, Marc worked as an associate for TCW/Crescent Mezzanine, where he analyzed and structured investments in privately held and publicly traded debt and equity securities. Marc conducted due diligence and provided financial analysis on transactions that represented over $100 million in fund investments. Marc also monitored 15 portfolio companies, three of which underwent operational and financial restructurings. Prior to working for TCW/Crescent, Marc worked as an investment banking analyst at Lehman Brothers where he performed extensive financial modeling and valuation analysis on LBO, merger and acquisition, and corporate finance transactions. At Lehman Brothers, Marc focused on the business services and paper and forest industries. In his spare time, Marc enjoys flying, scuba diving, guitar, golf, snowboarding, and surfing.
During the summer of 2006, Marc worked for a funded online community startup called SIXCENTS POKER, LLC with two other UCLA Anderson students. Marc served as the company's CFO and VP of Sales

Tim Henning Tim is currently a Fully Employed MBA student in the class of 2008 with a focus on Finance. Tim graduated from Ohio University in 2002 with his Bachelors and Masters of Science in Mechanical Engineering. Upon graduation, Tim moved to Southern California to work for Northrop Grumman Space Technology where he was responsible for the integration and test of a classified government satellite. He worked at Northrop for two and a half years at which point he moved to Boeing Integrated Defense Systems where he is currently the Engineering Verification Lead for XM Satellite Radio as well as a classified government program. In his spare time he enjoys golfing, volleyball, investing, and real estate

Frank McCreary

Frank is a full time 2007 MBA candidate at the UCLA Anderson School of Management. Prior to UCLA Anderson, Frank worked at JPMorgan Chase Bank as a relationship manager in the corporate trust area. As a relationship manager, Frank served as trustee on 215 bond deals with both corporate and municipal clients such as City of Houston, Texas Medical Center, Halliburton, and Whole Foods. In this role, Frank was responsible for negotiating the Trust Indentures and other related documents and facilitating the closing of the bond transactions. Additionally, Frank assisted with the reorganization of a number of defaulted deals and was the investment representative for the Houston Office. Frank graduated cum laude from Vanderbilt University with a BA in History and Economics. During the summer of 2006, Frank will be working for Highland Capital Management in Dallas, Texas

Falgun Patel

Falgun is a FEMBA 2007 MBA student at the UCLA Anderson School of Management. He is currently a Physicist at The Boeing Company in West Hills, CA. His work experience includes 10 years in R&D in various capacities ranging from research assistant to principal investigator to cost account manager. Falgun has been recognized for his technical as well as organization skills, and has been commended for mentoring junior staff. Falgun graduated in 2000 with a Ph.D. in Applied Science from UC Davis, and also holds an MS from UC Davis and a BS in Optics from the University of Rochester. After graduation, Falgun hopes to transition into a position that allows him to combine both his technical skills and the experience gained from UCLA Anderson School

Snehal Patel

Snehal Patel is a Fully Employed MBA 2008 student. Over the past 9 years, he has worked at The Boeing Company developing technologies necessary to communicate in the battlefield as well as detecting underwater sea mines. As the Technical Director of the Wideband Networking Waveform, he successfully led a team of six companies through development and successful demonstration of the wireless networking technology. His accomplishments in leading the development of the wireless networking technology earned him the Engineer of Year award. Snehal graduated from Georgia Institute of Technology with B.S. in Electrical Engineering and later earned M.S in Electrical Engineering from University of California, Irvine. After graduation, he looks forward to working in a dynamic environment where he can apply his analytical and management skills

Narasimham Seshadri

Narasimhan (Nachu) Seshadri works in the parts operations and strategy at Toyota Motor Sales and is focused on getting his MBA by 2008. Nachu got his Masters from the University of Pennsylvania and a dual Masters in Data and Systems from the University of Michigan. At Michigan, Nachu focused his research in the application of Systems theory to the field of Manufacturing and earned his Doctorate. Since then he has been consulting in the areas of supply chain systems, processes and solutions. At Toyota, Nachu has played a pivotal role through developing statistical forecast techniques, quantitative modeling of their unique "sell-one-buy-one" philosophy, as well as optimal risk-reward stocking strategies to improve the supply chain efficiency resulting in greater than $60M in savings. In addition, Nachu enjoys playing tennis, golf, squash and the market.

Ludmila Skulkina

Ludmila Skulkina is a full time 2007 MBA candidate at the UCLA Anderson School of Management where she studies Finance and Strategy. At UCLA, Ludmila is a Manager of Venture Capital Panel for Entrepreneurs’ Association and has been awarded a Deutschman Venture Fellowship. Prior to UCLA, Ludmila worked for a seven billion turn-around investment management firm in San Diego, Relational Investors. At Relational, Ludmila focused on evaluating new investments through industry research and strategic and financial analysis of the U.S. companies, focusing on healthcare and retail industries. Prior to that, Ludmila completed the two-year Investment Banking analyst program at Merrill Lynch in Los Angeles. While at Merrill, Ludmila worked on evaluating variety of financial transactions including merger and acquisition, capital structure alternatives, and spin-offs. Ludmila graduated Summa Cum Laude from UCLA where she received a B.A. in Business Economics with a minor in Accounting

Steven Sun

Steven is a 2007 MBA candidate at UCLA Anderson School of Management focusing on finance and investment management. Prior to Anderson school, Steven worked as a manager of strategic planning for a financial services firm, ZC Sterling, where he was in charge of industry research and investment analysis. Prior to that, Steven worked at Avanade, a consulting joint venture by Microsoft and Accenture. As a manager, he was in charge of financial analyses, industry research and project management. Steven also worked at Amada Co. as a team lead/software engineer, where he led a 3D simulation software project and contributed to two complex numerical analysis software projects. Steven received a M.S. in Computer Science from California State University, Long Beach and a B.A in Industrial Engineering from Zhejiang University. During the summer of 2006, Steven will be working as an Analyst at Barclay?s Global Investors in San Francisco. Steven is a Professional Poker Player and he is fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese

Jason Wingo

Jason is a full-time MBA student at UCLA Anderson focusing on Entrepreneurship and Finance. He is a student manager at Anderson Student Asset Management, a student run investment fund devoted to achieving favorable risk-adjusted returns. In the Fall and Winter of the 2006-2007 school year he will be a teaching assistant for MBA accounting and managerial model-building courses. He graduated from University of California, Los Angeles in 1996 with a B.S. in physics and from Columbia University in 1997 with an M.S. in applied physics.
Prior to UCLA Anderson, Jason was a team lead at IBM Corporation, working on deploying a new security audit compliance framework to IBM Global Service’s IT outsourcing accounts. Additionally, Jason led a global outsourcing effort of the UNIX support team for the Hitachi Global Storage Technologies account, and managed a complex hardware upgrade for the entire Lotus Notes IBM internal mail infrastructure. Prior to IBM, Jason worked as a chief field geophysicist at PGS Corp., specializing in marine seismic data acquisition, quality control and processing.
In his spare time, Jason enjoys rock climbing, fly-fishing and golfing, as well as traveling with his wife and son.
This summer, Jason will be a summer associate for Analysis Group, an economic consulting firm based in Boston, MA

Josh Yafa

Josh Yafa is a full-time MBA candidate in UCLA Anderson’s class of 2007. Before business school Josh split his time as an entrepreneur, sourcing and managing marketing communications and public relations campaigns through his start-up, Understood Communications, and touring the United States and Europe as a professional drummer. Josh returned to graduate school to study finance and will spend the summer of 2006 working at Lehman Brothers in Private Investment Management in New York, NY and San Francisco, CA. Josh graduated with honors from the University of California Santa Barbara with a BA in Business Economics

Ivan Yi

Ivan Yi is a full-time MBA student at the UCLA Anderson School of Management. Prior to business school, Ivan worked as an Investments Analyst for the Rockefeller University’s $1.5 billion endowment. At Rockefeller, Ivan tracked performance and researched potential private equity and hedge fund managers. Previously, Ivan worked as an Analyst in the Leveraged Finance group at CSFB and the Consumer/Retail Investment Banking group at Deutsche Bank. Ivan also spent a year as a high school mathematics teacher in the New York City Public School System. Ivan graduated from Yale University with a BA in Economics & Mathematics. During the summer of 2006, Ivan will be working at North Sound Capital, an equity long/short hedge fund in Greenwich, CT.
