Kevin Berryman is executive vice president and chief financial officer of International Flavors & Fragrances (IFF), a leading creator of flavors and fragrances used in a wide variety of consumer products and packaged goods. The company has sales, manufacturing and creative facilities in over 30 countries worldwide. Consumers experience these unique scents and tastes in fine fragrances and beauty care products, detergents and household goods, as well as beverages, confectionery and food products. The company works closely with leading consumer packaged companies around the world, helping support their efforts to build consumer preferred products. The global footprint of the company affords it a leadership position in many countries around the world, as it has successfully leveraged its decades long presence in many international locations. In fact, more than 75 percent of the company’s sales come from countries outside of the United States, with approximately fifty percent of the company’s sales coming from the emerging markets.
Prior to joining IFF, he enjoyed a successful 25 year career with Nestlé, the leading food company in the world. Over his long career with Nestlé, he held various positions of increasing responsibility in the areas of financial and operations management, including treasury, mergers and acquisitions, strategic planning, and financial control. At Nestlé, he most recently served as the company’s chief financial officer of Americas for Nestlé Professional. Prior to that he held the role of the company’s senior vice president of group control at their global headquarters in Switzerland where he was responsible for strategic planning, business analysis and finance leadership for this $100+ billion global organization.
He also played a key role in the success of Nestlé’s largest ever acquisition (of Ralston Purina) in 2001. He was chief financial officer of the newly established organization that was created as a result of the combination of Nestlé’s pet food business and Ralston Purina, and helped drive the successful integration of the company.
A native of California, he holds an MBA from UCLA Anderson and a B.A. in economics from Occidental College. He has been active in the communities where he has lived, and has served on the boards of various non-profit organizations. Currently, he is a member of the Board of the UCLA Anderson Center for Global Management.
He has been married to his wife, Risa, for over 30 years and they have two children, Brittany and Bryson.
