Alumni Play Role in NASA's Curiosity Mission

Mars Science Laboratory Flight Director, Keith Comeaux ('08) was one of a handful of UCLA Anderson alumni at the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory cheering on Sunday night, August 5, 2012 as the voice of mission control, Allen Chen ('07)  announced: "Touchdown confirmed: we're safe on Mars." Several minutes prior to touchdown,  Kelly Clarke ('02) announced that data was being received from an orbiting satellite around Mars named Odyssey. Additional UCLA Anderson student Saina Ghandchi ('13) and alumnus Keith Naviaux ('98) were also part of this extraordinary tour de force that is already providing significant new data and spectacular full-frame images of the Martian atmosphere.
