Tami Kozikowski (‘89) Named Chief Development Officer for Advance Auto Parts
Advance Auto Parts, Inc, a leading automotive aftermarket retailer of parts, batteries, accessories and maintenance items named Tami Kozikowski (‘89) chief development officer earlier this month.

Kozikowski will join Advance in May from Best Buy, where she is currently senior vice president, merchandising. In her new role, Kozikowski’s responsibilities will include the continued development of the Autopart International business, Advance’s real estate growth and development strategies and implementation of Advance’s people-focused strategies.

Matthew Grossman (‘99) Joins Walt Disney Company as Vice President, Corporate Communications, Europe, Middle East and Africa
Matthew Grossman (‘99) has joined the Walt Disney Company as vice president, corporate communications, Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA). Grossman will be based in London and will manage Disney’s public profile with the media across EMEA, coordinate the communications for Disney’s European executives handle any crisis communications and manage internal communications.

Prior to joining Disney, Grossman was senior vice president, International, Edelman Public Relations, Paris where he counseled companies such as Societe Generale, Microsoft Xbox and Starbucks on French and European Communications.

Clear Align Adds David Huff (‘98) As Vice President of Business Development
Clear Align has added David Huff (‘98) as vice president of business development for their Fiber Optics Business Unit. Huff has over 26 years of experience in defense, optics and technology development.

Huff most recently was a vice president at the Optoelectronics Industry Development Association in Washington DC where he helped define industry direction in optoelectronics for both defense and commercial application and drove the vision towards “Green Photonics.”

Align Technology Names Sheila Tan (‘95) as VP, Marketing and Chief Marketing Officer
Align Technology, Inc. announced that it has appointed Sheila Tan (‘95) as vice president of marketing and chief marketing officer. The announcement came last month and took effective immediately.

Tan has over 16 years of experience creating brands, products, and marketing strategies in the consumer products, software, and Internet service industries. Prior to joining Align, where she previously served as vice president of product innovation and marketing strategy, Tan served as vice president, marketing for MokaFive, a leading provider of next generation desktop virtualization, targeting SMBs and enterprise IT.

Metabasis Therapeutics Appoints Tran B. Nguyen (‘04) as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer
Metabasis Therapeutics, Inc., a biopharmaceutical company focused on the clinical development of innovative therapies to treat metabolic diseases such as hyperlipidemia and diabetes, has announced the appointment of Tran B. Nguyen (‘04) as vice president and chief financial officer.

Nguyen has more than 10 years of global analytical finance experience through working on a variety of transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, initial public offerings, and add-on equity, convertible and debt offerings. Nguyen joins the Company’s senior management team and will be primarily responsible for managing the financial operations of the Company. Nguyen was formerly a part of the Healthcare Investment Banking group of Citi Global Markets Inc. as a vice president.
