Founded in 1951 by Wally Parks, the National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) is the primary sanctioning body entity and the largest promoter of professional drag racing in the world, the fastest and most spectacular form of entertainment on wheels. Parks initially started NHRA as a means of getting hot rodders off the streets and onto legal drag strips and to provide safety to the racers and fans.

Anderson alumni and their families are invited to experience a Behind-The-Scenes look at some of the fastest cars on the planet as the NHRA presents its 2016 NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series World Championships at the Auto Club Raceway in Pomona on Saturday, November 12.

$35 admission with Registration / Children 12 and under are free / $15 Parking at Gate

Alumnae Pam Allison (MBA '00), NHRA's Director of Digital Products, and Glen Cromwell, VP, National Event Marketing will host us for a pre-race presentation on the marketing strategies and challenges faced by the NHRA in a competitive entertainment marketplace.

Afterwards, you're free to walk the raceway grounds as the 2016 season concludes where it began with an event traditionally laced with drama – and watch cars top 300mph from grandstand seats, included with your event registration.

The historic racetrack typically enjoys seasonably cool temperatures that translate into perfect racing conditions and a spectacular, no-hold-barred battle for world championships. It's a good bet that the Top Fuel, Funny Car, Pro Stock and Pro Stock Motorcyle world titles will still be in doubt at the beginning of the season's final day.

10am - Arrive, park, meet up for a brief tour

11am - Discussion of NHRA by Glen Cromwell, VP, National Event Marketing

12pm - Pro Driver  racing begins - watch from your Grandstand Seats (included w/ registration)
