Worldwide Welcome Weeks

Join UCLA Anderson's San Diego alumni chapter for an exclusive Worldwide Welcome Weeks event at global, sporting goods company, Callaway Golf. The evening will feature a presentation on rediscovering the strategic role of social media by Andres Terech, Adjunct Associate Professor of Marketing at UCLA Anderson.  Professor Tereach will explore if social media is an engine of sales, a marketing platform or customer service channel.  Then Professor Terech will lead a conversation with Harry Arnett, Senior Vice President, Marketing and Brand Management, Callaway Golf about the organization's social media strategy and efforts to transform social media data into insights.

About Harry Arnett
SVP, Marketing and Brand Management, Callaway

Harry Arnett joined Callaway Golf in June 2012. In his role as SVP, Marketing and BrandManagement, Mr. Arnett leads the company’s global marketing, communications and go-to-market functions, while also overseeing its category management function. Additionally, Mr. Arnett serves on Callaway’s Product Strategy Steering Committee.
During his time at Callaway, the company has achieved its highest US hard goods market share since 2003, and reached the #1 position in irons, #1 in fairway woods, #1 in hybrids, #1 in putters, and #1 in total clubs. Mr. Arnett’s tenure has also included implementing a transformative marketing model based on digital marketing innovation, multimedia content creation and distribution, and constant consumer engagement.

Arnett joined Callaway Golf with extensive golf industry experience, including his role as Vice President of Global Marketing, TaylorMade, adidas, and Ashworth Golf. In addition, he has held a marketing leadership role at Russell Corporation. Mr. Arnett earned an MBA from Duke University after completing his undergraduate studies at Emory University in Atlanta.

Harry, his wife Kim and 2 children live in Carlsbad, Calif.

About Professor Andres Terech
Adjunct Associate Professor of Marketing, UCLA Anderson

Andres Terech is an Adjunct Associate Professor of Marketing at UCLA Anderson School of Management, where he has been voted teacher of the year by both Anderson’s Full-Time and Executive MBA students. Before joining UCLA, Professor Terech was a member of the faculty at IAE Business School, Universidad Austral in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

He teaches courses in marketing strategy, sales force management, distribution strategy, retail management, price policies, and marketing management. He has also taught in numerous marketing executives programs, both in the U.S. and business schools in Spain, Mexico, Chile, Peru, and Ecuador. In addition to teaching marketing courses, professor Terech coaches teams on their Applied Management Research program and teaches Global Immersion programs to Latin America countries.

Professor Terech’s research interests include modeling consumer choice behavior and competitive market structure, franchising, retailing, and pricing strategy. Professor Terech’s work has been published in scholarly journals and specialized business publications such as Marketing Letters, Case Research Journal, and Harvard Business Review.

Professor Terech’s consulting experience covers several marketing challenges such as new product launches, marketing plans and growth strategies, promotion and communication programs, and feasibility analysis. He has advised clients in a variety of industries, including retailing, agribusiness, financial services, textile, and automobile. Professor Terech is on the Advisory board of startup companies. Before becoming an academic, he worked for Accenture.

Professor Terech received his Ph.D. in Marketing from UCLA, an MBA from Universidad Austral and holds a BA in Business Administration from Universidad de Buenos Aires.

Alumni
