Join the New York alumni chapter in welcoming the Class of 2015 with behind-the-scenes access at Kings County Distillery in Brooklyn - New York City's oldest operating whiskey distillery co-founded and owned by David Nichols '97. Hear Nichols' entrepreneurial story, take a tour of the facilities and learn about the history of whiskey production. Then we will enjoy a delicious assortment of southern food paired with handcrafted whiskey cocktails.  Beer and wine will also be served.

About Kings County Distillery

Kings County Distillery is New York City’s oldest operating whiskey distillery, the first since prohibition. Located just steps from the legendary site of the Brooklyn Whiskey Wars of the 1860s, the distillery is a model of sustainable and traditional whiskey production and one of the preeminent craft distilleries in the United States. They use New York grain and traditional distilling equipment to make distinctive whiskey. Their whiskeys have won numerous awards from the American Distilling Institute, the American Craft Spirits Association, and their bourbon was recently named #2 craft bourbon by Eric Asimov of the New York Times. They only distill whiskey for their label and never buy bulk whiskey from any other source.

Directions

Please enter the Navy Yard through the Sands Street Gate, at the corner of Sands Street and Navy Street. (Our “address” on Flushing is misleading—and GPS/smartphones may erroneously lead to an empty lot.) Kings County Distillery is the first building past the gate. Be prepared to show ID to enter the Navy Yard. Closest subways are A/C at High Street and the F at York Street.
