Want to set yourself apart from your fellow job candidates by persuasively expressing the unique strengths and talents you would bring to a new position? This workshop will help you acknowledge your own talents and strengths and leverage them to get the job you want.
Kathryn Ullrich, Director of Alumni Career Services at UCLA Anderson, will take you through your strengths and apply these to your job, your branding with your elevator pitch, and your networking.
By leveraging your talents and abilities, areas where you naturally excel, you'll be happier with your job. You will take Clifton StrengthsFinder by the Gallup Corporation prior to the workshop to learn your top five strengths. Then, in the workshop, you'll learn about these strengths and define examples of how these strengths apply to your work and your targeted job function. Taking your strengths further, you'll learn how to turn these examples into short vignettes that will highlight your strengths and abilities during job search.
Lastly, the workshop will culminate with sharing your strengths-based elevator pitch with others during ground rounds of speed networking to kick off the year's job search with a great networking start!
In this workshop presented by UCLA Anderson Alumni Career Services, you will:
- Learn to effectively apply your strengths to your job search;
- Uncover your strengths and how they have contributed to your successes;
- Assess your strengths and how they relate to your target job and industry;
- Articulate your strengths in a way that will communicate the unique value you bring to a new position; and
- Share your strengths and job search objective with other MBA alumni during facilitated speed networking.
Required Prework: Prior to the workshop, you must take the StrengthsFinder 2.0 assessment and bring the results of your top five strengths with you. We will collecting your top five and you be working with those results in framing your personal brand.
