Most professionals believe that having a strong network is valuable in business. Some people think networking happens at events filled with crowds of strangers. Others think it is bits and bytes in social media. There are many books on networking, even a recent one for introverts. But what should you be doing in networking leveraging your MBA from UCLA Anderson?

Ken Tudhope ('91), author of The Key: A Networking Guide to Meeting, Connecting and Succeeding and the best networked recruiter in Orange County, presents ideas for successful networking through the UCLA/ Anderson Network.

In this session, you will learn how to:

  • Identify and connect with UCLA/ Anderson Classmates
  • Use social media to stay connected throughout the years
  • Follow good ideas about networking through the local UCLA / Anderson alumni Chapters
  • Access the Alumni network when there is a specific need 

 

ABOUT Ken tudhope ('91):

Given annual compounded sales growth of over 150% per year during the Great Recession Ken Tudhope is one of the top professional services sales professionals in Orange County today. The key to Ken’s success can be summed up in one word: connections. Ken knows more people working in Finance & Accounting jobs in Orange County, CA than anyone else. Ken founded Project Pro Search in the fall of 2007 with little more than his Rolodex and a few simple ideas for networking with clients and referral sources. His keys to success in networking are: “sign up, show up, follow up and step up.” Ken has done all these with active leadership roles in Financial Executives International, Institute of Management Accountants, UCLA/Anderson Alumni Board, OC|CFO Network, etc. He writes the popular blog: www.networkingnote.com blog and has presented keynote presentations for the Harvard Business School Alumni Association, UCI Merage Graduate School of Management, BDO Seidman, and Marsh Risk and Insurances Services. Ken is a graduate of the University of Washington with a BA in Economics and earned an MBA at UCLA / Anderson Graduate School of Management. He is both an active Certified Public Accountant (PricewaterhouseCoopers) and Certified Management Accountant.
