Salary Negotiation: How to Evaluate and Maximize your Job Offer

Thursday, September 20, 2012
1:00 – 2:00 p.m. Pacific
Webinar

“Wow I received a job offer! “ Now what?  What does that mean? What do I do now? Accept it? Ask for more money? Where do start from here and how do I figure out what is important to me? What makes up salary and should I negotiate this offer?

The vast majority of people never plan in detail how to respond to and negotiate the multiple facets of a job offer. This skill is usually demonstrated only by experienced senior executives negotiating high-compensation offers.

A job offer is much more than salary. It can include bonus, stock options, vacation, relocation, office location, company car, expense account, delayed compensation, 401k, health insurance, etc.

This session will give you a clear understanding of ”how” to prepare for an offer negotiation discussion. We will cover the homework necessary for you to understand the current business climate and collect information that will benefit you when deciding on an offer.

In this session, you will learn:
• Preparation for the negotiation of your job offer
• Elements of your salary
• Data gathering on what others are getting paid for similar positions
• Quantifying compensation factors
• Common questions and pitfalls
• Getting pay equity in your current position
• Effectively maximizing your compensation during the salary negotiation process.

This session is for all current and future job applicants seeking to maximize compensation throughout their working career.
