UCLA Anderson and Revolution Prep present: High School Success & Getting into the College of Your Choice (For Alumni Families & Their Children) Please join Revolution Prep and other experts as we bring UCLA Anderson Alumni and families together to gain insights for success in the dreaded College Admissions process! It's never too early to start. SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 23, 2012 Time: 1:00 pm–5:00 pmLocation: UCLA Anderson, B-301 110 Westwood Plaza Los Angeles, CA 90095 Parking in UCLA's Structure 4, enter Westwood Plaza from Sunset Blvd. Registration: • $20 per alum and/or spouse • No cost for your children to attend. //ABOUT Join us for an event for Alumni parents and their children to help guide you toward success in high school and to humanize the college application process. Experts in the field will come together to provide special insight on how to navigate this complex landscape. This four-hour college readiness event is targeted for families with children in 8th grade through rising seniors. Session Agenda 1pm-1:30pm: Introduction to High School (Will be the first module) This portion is designed for families with 8th – 9th graders, feel free to come 30 minutes later if you have older children. 1:30pm-2pm: Introduction to the Admissions Process 2-2:30pm: Getting the Grades 2:30pm-3:45pm: Getting the Scores 3:45pm-5pm: Acing the Application 1-on-1 time scheduled throughout the program and from 5-6pm (UCLA). Panelist include : Steve Brennan, College Admissions Expert with College Coach. Former Senior Admissions Officer – Occidental College, Marquette University, Loyola University Chicago, Regis University Colorado. Tom Lifka, recently retired Associate Vice Chancellor at UCLA and the person to whom admissions and financial aid (among other student services areas) reported to for the past 30 years, will bring his inside knowledge and experience on the admissions process and what it takes to succeed. Eric Rath, Instructional Expert from Revolution Prep. Graduate of UC Bekeley with high honors, Elite tutor status with over 3000 hours of tutoring for the SAT, ACT, SAT II's, and AP tests. Fall 2011 Avg. Score increases: 600+ SAT, 7+ ACT.
