Forming a Mastermind Group
A webinar in the Entrepreneurial Growth series presented by UCLA Anderson
Alumni Career Services and the Price Center for Entrepreneurial Studies
Monday, October 16, 2012
1:00 – 2:00 p.m. Pacific
Webinar
Napoleon Hill, author of Think and Grow Rich, defined Mastermind as a “coordination of knowledge and effort, in a spirit of harmony, between two or more people, for the attainment of a definite purpose.” His concept was inspired by Andrew Carnegie who surrounded himself with a staff for the purpose of manufacturing and marketing steel. Carnegie attributed his vast fortune to the power he accumulated through this ‘Master Mind’ group.
Hill believed that a group of like-minded, achievement-oriented individuals could dramatically leverage each other’s success. Since then, Mastermind Groups have become a valuable resource for professional success.
In this webinar, alumni Kathy Yeung ('97) and Andrew Young ('00) will share their successes and experiences from their own Mastermind groups.
Attendees will learn the following lessons, including:
- Benefits of a Mastermind group
- Best practices, pitfalls, and advice for forming and running groups
- Opportunity to identify other alumni who are interested in Mastermind groups
- Template of best practices for Mastermind groups
