Constantine Malaxos ’96

The 2013 Outstanding Alumni Service Award

Constantine Malaxos '96This year's recipient, Constantine Malaxos (MBA '96) is the Director of North American Commercial Sales at Lumeta Corporation. Lumeta empowers large enterprise and government agencies with global network visibility, allowing them to understand how network change affects security, availability, and compliance. Lumeta's IPsonar is the industry's only network assurance solution that discovers and maps every asset on a network, including assets not currently under management. This capability enables IT professionals to analyze the connectivity between assets and networks, uncover risk patterns, and automate the enforcement of network policies.

Upon graduation from UCLA Anderson, Constantine followed his adventurous side and decided to volunteer in Hungary through the MBA Enterprise Corp for one year.  There he developed a go-to-market strategy for OTP Bank's Private Banking initiative. Returning stateside, Constantine left banking and joined The Lightstone Group.  This was the beginning of a focus on growing small companies with a niche in technology. At Lightstone, Constantine managed the financial operations of what became one of the fastest growing companies on Long Island.  In 1998, Lightstone was acquired by Descartes Systems Group and Constantine landed a role leading the marketing team of this publicly traded firm. After Descartes, he concentrated on the sales and business development side of the house at Safe3w, iPass and NetMotion Wireless.  Today he is at Lumeta where he has earned awards for "Top Sales Team" and "Above and Beyond."

In the years since he received his MBA, Constantine Malaxos has unwaveringly led the NY alumni chapter as first a board member and then chapter president. Constantine infused the NY chapter with much-needed re-invigoration, expanded the offerings of the organization and successfully encouraged the active participation of other alumni in both attending and planning events. He "wrote the book" on encouraging and enlisting volunteers. Constantine has been the "face" of UCLA Anderson to the NY-based alumni chapter for many years and his influence will be felt for many years to come.

Malaxos earned a BS in Finance at the State University of New York at Albany in 1991 and an MBA from the UCLA Anderson School of Management in 1996.
