Deputy Team Chief, Jet Propulsion Laboratory
Keith Naviaux is currently the deputy team chief for the Mars Science Laboratory (MSL) Engineering Operations team at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) in Pasadena, California. He co-leads the engineering team responsible for the daily operations of the Curiosity rover on the surface of Mars. He began his support on MSL approximately 1 year prior to launch and has supported development, testing and execution of Curiosity’s launch, cruise and surface operations.
Prior to joining the MSL team, Keith supported a variety of NASA and JPL programs, primarily in team leadership, systems engineering and flight operations roles for both ground data systems and flight spacecraft. He has also spent several years working for aerospace companies outside of NASA supporting flight operation, ground system, and business infrastructure development for commercial projects.
Keith holds a Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Colorado, Boulder and an MBA from the UCLA Anderson Graduate School of Management.
