"FInancial Access at Birth"
Financial Access at Birth -- is a program developed by
Professor Chowdhry. It is a social and economic innovation that seeks financial inclusion. Financial inclusion is defined as is a state in which all people who can use them have access to a full suite of quality financial services, provided at affordable prices, in a convenient manner, and with dignity for the clients. Financial services are delivered by a range of providers, most of them private, and reach everyone who can use them, including disabled, poor, and rural populations. The aim of Financial Access at Birth is to do something about the fact that half of the world's population has no access to mainstream financial services. This is a huge handicap , exposing people who are typically already on the poverty line to risks that wealthier people can manage through savings or insurance. This FAB initiative is the brainchild of Professor Chowdhry, and it has attracted some prominent supporters, including Peter Singer, a well-known philosopher , and Vijay Mahajan, an Indian social entrepreneur.
