Thad Levine ('99)

Thad Levine is in his ninth season as the club’s Assistant General Manager after being appointed to that position in October of 2005. He assists General Manager Jon Daniels in all Major League Operations responsibilities, including player acquisitions, roster composition, contract negotiations, statistical and financial analyses and the day-to-day management of the baseball operations department.

He came to the Rangers after spending the previous six seasons with the Colorado Rockies. He served as the Rockies’ Senior Director, Baseball Operations in 2005 and prior to that was the club’s Director of Baseball Administration (2002-04) and the team’s Assistant Director of Baseball Administration (1999-2002).

Levine went to the Rockies from Los Angeles, where he worked one season for the Dodgers (business development) and earned an MBA from UCLA in 1999. He has marketing experience with Coca-Cola, the Rockport Company and Reebok, Ltd.

Born in 1971 in Alexandria, Va., Thad earned a bachelor’s degree in 1994 from Haverford (Pa.) College, where he played baseball. Levine fulfilled some of his graduate work abroad in Cape Town, South Africa. He serves on the Board of Directors of the Sports Challenge Leadership Academy and the Board of Directors of the Texas Rangers Charitable Foundation. Thad and his wife, Claudette, reside in Dallas with their three children: daughters Greta (5) and Tess (2), and son Quinn (4).
