Giora RommMajor General (Res.) Giora Romm has vast military and civilian experience in military command, operations, management and diplomacy.

Giora Romm served in the Israeli Air Force for 33 years during the course of which he served in a wide variety of positions: as a pilot, senior commander and staff officer. Major General Romm was an active pilot throughout his military career and has piloted most of the fighter planes and helicopters in the Israeli Air Force. His last two positions in the IDF were Deputy Commander of the Air Force and, thereafter, Israel's Military Attaché to the United States.

Upon his retirement from the military in 1996, he was appointed the first Director-General of the Ministry of National Infrastructure (under Minister Ariel Sharon). After several years in the business world, Romm returned to public service as Director-General of the Jewish Agency for Israel from 2001-2004.

Giora Romm holds a B.A. in Economics and Political Science from Bar Ilan University, and an M.B.A. from the University of California in Los Angeles. He lives in Ganei Yehuda, is married to Miriam, and is the father of a daughter and two sons and a grandfather of three.
